Will RID be replaced by a Beast Wars type cartoon in 2016?

I hope not! I do love me some Beast Wars, but I don't want a toyline that is exclusively Maximals and Predicons. I want some cars/trucks/planes too!

I wouldn't mind a new Beast Wars series, but I think if they did make one, it would air along with RiD rather than replace it.

If information is accurate and Hasbro plans to produce 78 episodes of RiD, that will basically mean the series could run anywhere from 3-4 years (and perhaps even a touch longer if it proves popular with reruns and an extended toyline, barring any major brand changes).

If we see any Anniversary stuff for Beast Wars, I fully expect it to be incorporated into the Generations Classic segment, as we've already seen with Waspinator, Tankor, Rattrap and Rhinox. And with how IDW has been incorporated into that segment (as well trends within the series itself), I could easily see Beast Wars being a big part of the 2016 Generations plan.

But as far as cartoons? We're stuck with RiD for a good while yet.

How about Beast Wars III, a sequel to Beast Wars II which did have vehicles and beasts?

I feel like even if an entirely beast-based toyline did show up, there's so many trucks and cars already, not to mention generations, that it would hardly tip the scales.

Wasn't one of the conceptual symbols they used shaped like a wolf's head?

Because, as it turns out, RID Steeljaw is kinda-sorta a wolf. And he is pretty prevalent in what we've seen so far from the toyline's Decepticons.

    Hmmm.

Probably not a series, but it would be cool to see a direct-to-video movie involving the Beast Wars characters to celebrate the 20th anniversary

Chant "I do believe in fairies!" and it can come true!

I guess in a few years it'll be about time they rolled around another Beast Era for the new generation.
It's hard to believe us younguns sitting in front of the TV for Beast Wars are becoming the last generation x.x time flies.

You know, if they don't make a new Beast Era, they could at least release completely dubbed BW2 and Neo sets that don't cost an arm and a leg.

Unless RID ends up being some type of unintentional failure, why would Hasbro want to go through the effort to produce a cartoon and mainline-type toys only to immediately replace it with something else the following year? I'm not entirely knowledgeable about the entire design process, but, it seems like a whole lot of wasted effort considering how long it can take. Didn't they say some of their toys can take up to two years to complete from concept to final product? Also, doesn't it take quite a while to put together a full-fledged cartoon, too?

yeah they did say that (about it being a year or more for some toys).

Didn't read the title/post well enough when posting me last response. In 2016? Nope. Maybe 2018? Maybe. :)

wait till the 50th anniversary ....We'll get so little love that the Gi Joe celebration will have looked like a woodstock convention.

Suppose it's possible that could be a new faction within the RiD show, a bit like season 3 of Prime introduced the Predacon faction and the experimental Beast Hunters line.

We're definitely just gonna get a show about Professor Princess, Battle Unicorn, and other Unicornformers that count as beastformers.

Actually....by 2016 Rescue Bots should have hit syndication and will have ended season 3.
So gonna recant my other statement- there may be a new show in 2016, it just probably won't be replacing RiD.

And Unicron could be main villain because his name is so similar already. Only this time instead of transforming into a giant planet he'd be sporting a a scary looking demon unicorn! Onyx Prime could also be thrown into that mix, too, since he's a centaur thing. >>; It would be the perfect cartoon that appeals to both boys and girls. Since the boys all like the Ponies now anyway, right? xD

Not going to like I'd watch the hell out of a TF cartoon that featured unicorns.
