Well, the good news is that can easily be fixed with the right sized screw. Thanks for the pictures. Now I'm not as worried. If mine breaks I can easily fix that type of part. I can also recast that entire part in stronger material. I have some high impact resin here. It's a lot stronger than the cheap shitty plastic they use.

    Thanks for the confirmation.
Guess Hasbro are't concerned about scale.

I wanted to take a pic showing the different heads but I just can't focus today:

If I can get a Hasbro LC Skywarp (and a TC) for less that 1 igear raptor, it's all good in my book.

I know almost everyone (if not everyone) means the Raptors, but just out of curiosity, is anyone here talking about iGear's older Seekers instead of the Raptors? Or have I mixed companies in my mind.

Depending on if you can do it financially, it may be worth it to buy the three pack then sell Thrust and Ramjet if you don't fall in love. I'm sure someone out there will want each of them like you do Dirge.

Just think of it as one of Starscream's crazy schemes to overthrow Hegemon.

$50 isn't "much" (depends on your budget, pretty significant for me, but relatively) for one. However if you want 3 or 6 it adds up. $150 for either trio or $300 for all 6 is significant savings for most people. Luckily I don't love the seekers like others do so I'm not even tempted by iGear.

Which is a fine way to look at it, if you like the look of the official one. I don't. I'd rather spend more money on something that looks good, than less money on two things that I dont like the look of.

Hasbro isn't competing with third parties, it took how many years after Defender was released to make a triple changing Springer? (And to be honest, I prefer the FP one). Also if Hasbro wanted to compete they would come out with these toys FIRST, not after the fact. I have a good looking Superion now, I've had it for years ... I don't need to wait for the one in 2015. Same with every other example on that list, it's all 'reactionary'. If Hasbro wants my money they need to be delivering quality products first, not after I've already filled that hole in my collection. Hasbro can announce a Predaking tomorrow, but I already have Feral Rex, and he's not losing his spot on the shelf.

And as someone else said, I understand a $300 savings sounds significant, but this is also assuming Hasbro will release all six seekers in a timely manor ... if at all. Remember how long it took to get a full set of seekers in the original classics line. It wouldn't shock me if they released 1-2 seekers at retail, made another one a store exclusive, and made the rest club figures(non-BotCon)/subscription service/Takara exclusives - and have it take 2-3 years to get a full set thus negating or eliminating the savings all together.

this needs to be repeated. this is why gear wins. if hastak said they would do all 7 id be in. 3 OG Seekers, 3 Coneheads, Sunstorm. As it is I think i can live without any of them.

Dammit! I wish I could say that. But Starscream, Thundercracker & Skywarp were the very first Transformers I found back in 84. And I LOVE jets. Maybe if I found Bumblebee or Optimus first I wouldn't care about.......oh who am I kidding, the seekers were the best toys from wave 1 IMO. Jets rule!

I wish I didn't start this damn thread, now I want all 6 Igears.:mad  I seriously need to start saving for them. What if I buy all 6 from Igear & repaint 6 leader Thundercrackers? Then I won't have to worry about which is better.:lol

Are there any pics of the Jetfire/TC mold next to TW Orion? I must admit that I like the darker blue of this TC over Igear's, but I have a feeling he's going to pushing it in terms of robot mode head height.

Hooray for finding more ways to spend money. Now instead of deciding between $300 or $600 it is $300 AND $600. Plus whatever the paint costs.

I never had a G1 Seeker until re-issues (have 4 of those 6). I do have most of G2 Starscream still though. So no chance to grow an attachment during my formative years.

    EDIT:

Found this in the Radicon section (Googled Jetfire Orion, found this in the image search)

Thanks. Yeah, he's taller than I'd prefer... But I like the dark blue and the bulky arms, and I think the altmode looks pretty nice. The Igear Seekers scale just about perfect with my Classics/3P collection, but I do wish their arms were bulker...

First world problems... *Cue Weird Al song*

I have to say, I've read all the comments on here praising the iGear Seekers. And I can understand it. But for me, if they were trying to do an IDW version of the seekers, they've more or less dropped the ball in making it as perfect as they could have made it. I mean, take a look at the PP03 series. They were so adept at not only copying the MP seekers, but they made improvements that otherwise, gave the seekers a better look overall. Then they outdid themselves and made the coneheads.

Now with these raptors, the alt mode was like an F-22, and not like the IDW seeker alt mode. That, I can deal with. The bot mode was where I weighed everything heavily. The torso and legs were ok, but those spindly noodle looking like arms were.....how shall we say.....leaving way too much to be desired. And people are complaining about them being fragile. That's a huge negative in my book. Then....DAT FACE! I can't get over how FUGLY that face is! Even with the "alternate" head.....I can't do it. It's still FUGLY as all hell! Where's ROTF Prime when you need him????  And it doesn't even look anywhere NEAR the IDW head/face. Like some/many have said, it looks like they tried an animated look. For that, sorry iGear, you're not getting my money. Even with Dr. Killinger's replacement head, I still couldn't get past the noodle arms. No way. I figure, if someone could make replacement arms too to at least make them proportionate to the rest of the body, then I'd bite, but then I realized, that may not be feasible due to it possibly interfering with the transformation process.

Either way, even if it was possible, I'd be spending more money than I care to to have these seekers. Compare that to the possible $50 for the Leader Class TC? Man...I'm sorry, but I'm going to have to respectfully disagree with a lot of you. Even with the hollow parts (that can easily be fixed with some styrene), Leader TC is a better value not only because of looks, but....just overall design. He at least looks like a normally proportioned bot. He doesn't look like he's got Popeye legs and Olive Oil arms. And most importantly....Leader Class TC's face doesn't make me want to get ROTF Prime to rip it off.

I don't care much for the Generations Leader class Jetfire toy but this Thundercracker remold/recolour is definitely piquing my interest.

I don't think that the upcoming Thundercracker retool of Generations Jetfire is in response to iGear's Raptors. The Jetfire mold would have been developed up to around 2 years ago. Hasbro toy designers and representatives have said on several occasions that I can recall that the average toy development cycle is 1.5-2 years on average. So Jetfire would have been put into development before the iGear Raptors were announced(around mid 2013 right?).

The remold of Jetfire into a Seeker is an easy re-use of the mold. Hasbro isn't likely trying to compete with iGear or give them the finger either. Hasbro simply recognizes that people will be willing to fork over money for a Seeker toy, especially those who have the money to pay for a $50 Leader class toy.

At this stage, Hasbro is more likely to observe the 3rd party industry to capitalize on consumer purchasing trends for the purpose of developing brand strategy for their higher priced Transformers size class toys(ie. Voyager and Leader). The average kid isn't likely going to be able to either afford to buy a Voyager or Leader class toy every time a new one is released and it's doubtful most parents are willing to spend $25-$50 for a toy every other month for their children. So this leaves the dedicated toy collector, particularly TF toy collectors, who are often able to indulge in such purchases on a semi regular basis.

Correct me if i'm wrong, but didn't the Seekers all have Raptor altmodes in the IDW comics for a while? All Hail Megatron I believe...

They had Raptor altmodes throughout the "-ation" series, and in AHM they inexplicably switched to F-15 Masterpiece-style designs. After that Starscream and Skywarp stayed F-15, while Thundercracker went back to F-22 and used the Ongoing Guido design.
