He looks like a great figure. I had to preorder the Takara one because of the extra apps and, as I'm ordering through an importer friend, they are the same price anyway (we won't be getting him in NZ at retail). He's my first ever Headmaster. I'm excited!

that's what I want to know. I thought it was supposed to be released before arcee but the way its going it will be after. we already have reviews for arcee but haven't heard shit about brainstorm from any of the reviewers. WTF???

 

We're barely halfway through October, he still has a couple weeks to show (though I'm betting he'll end up a tail ender for 30th, he'll hit hard at around Thanksgiving, get cleared out by Christmas, and be super expensive later on. See: HftD Highbrow and blue Fallen)

If the differences between the Hasbro and Takara versions have been discussed, I apologised, and please feel free to mock me and give me a link. If not, could someone run down the current educated guess on this?

It looks like the Takara version has an Autobot symbol on the canopy, a few extra red and silver paint apps on the chest, and darker grey plastic.... Its the darker plastic that concerns me, as the I really like the lighter. Is this correct, or just a product of the lighting in the pictures? Thanks.

 

This may come as a shock: Hasbro will miss their original shipping estimate. Safe bet is mid-November.

Double shock: This wave will only be at retail for like 6 weeks, then we'll start getting Combiner Wars, because while later waves are usually postponed, line relaunches are usually on time.

But yeah, Robot Kingdom has said November from the beginning and they always get Voyagers way, way before US retailers.

 

An update there is a USA based eBay sell who claims to have Brainstorm IN STOCK. Good rep by all accounts. I'm not plugging them, I thought it would help give context.

Love this toy, I have only had it in hand for less than a day..
The next/Brain head is loose, nothing a little glue and letting dry over night won't fix..
I do have the G1 Brainstorm and Arcana DOES fit in this cockpit! I may make an adapter or change the G1 head to pop on to the new one.. The G1 Head/Arcana looks much better in my opinion..

Edit: There is so much nostalgia with this toy.. I received the G1 version as they were first released.. I loved it so much that years later down the line... I bought another in much better shape.. Some wonderful memories with that toy, and I'm getting the same vibe from this one too.. Bring on more Head Masters!

Edit 2: I did not like the fully transparent cockpit, so I painted the inside of the cockpit window with a light spray of Gold Enamel Krylon Short cuts spray can.. I love those things!

 

I agree. Generations Brainstorm is fantastic

 

I just received Brainstorm from Amazon today (my stores no longer have TF shelves) and I have noticed a few things.

1. The loose neck problem is non-existent here. The headmasters ball joint is not painted and appears to be a dark grey. And is just the right tightness.
2. the tech spec gimmick's locking point and the panel itself has a tab that holds it there nicely. It won't flop down unless you push the grey piece above it. It also seems wider and more square like.
3. The headmasters arms/earflaps also have ridges right outside the ball joint. So they can be "clicked" to certain rotations so they line up with the rest of the head.

This is all I have noticed so far but I am curious (if this thread is still active) has anyone else gotten perfect copies of Brainstorm like I have randomly?

 

got my brainstorm voyager today from Amazon. Head clicks and comes off without any issues.
