    ^ Right?

I saw this movie over 30 times in theaters and the crowd was LOVING it every single time!

Sounds like a lame way to get an infraction.

The IMAX 3D screening I went to was silent. I gave a few pity laughs, but otherwise there was no sound whatsoever.

My Imax 3D screening applauded into cheers at the credits, the crowd was very lively, there was a damn near revolt when the projector broke...

"So get ready for another sequel that promises it will be better, but instead shoves the same exact thing down your gullible throat."

This is pretty much how they got me.

What do you mean exactly? I'm not seeing any 'blasting' of the video on here or the YouTube comments?

Also, by "the rest of us" you mean G1 fan boys that roam discussion boards bashing the TF movies all day long?

I usually love these Honest Trailers but this one was lacking...using the same complaints we've heard.

The Chinese commentary was spot on, and hilarious. I suppose it might be "obnoxious" if you don't speak the language; Gravelly Voiced American Guy is pretty stupid sounding if you don't speak English.

I find a fair bit of humor in the fact that, like the movie, this trailer is best enjoyed if you're multicultural, making it pretty much a snoozefest for the majority of people on both sides of the Pacific.

Personally, I think that's one of the BIG strengths Orci & Kurtzman had to their credit over Kruger.

The humor in the last two TF films was NOWHERE NEAR as rollicking and riotously hilarious as the first two...but then that might have a lot to do with kowtowing to a misguided and nonrepresentative hardcore fanbase instead of the vastly overwhelming general populous.

That "goofy humor" a lot of TF-message board fans and critics decry is partly what made the first films such a hilariously over-the-top joyride experience. People were practically falling out of their seats laughing and rolling in the aisles at those movies, lol. Good stuff!

Frankly, I'd like to see that brought back a LOT more than it has been so far.

That said, the audience responses I witnessed (and recorded) were all pretty overwhelmingly positive and vocal, it was just for the OMFG BADASS moments more than the relatively quieter humorous moments.

No, no, no. I saved TONS of membership reward points and theater chain gift cards for months in advance of the premiere and generally sneaked into a second screening for free each time, lol. Made sure I caught matinees and stuff too.

And, yeah, I found it at the cheap-o theaters a few times recently, too.

    Not my first rodeo.

    ;)

The problem with these movies and their humor is that it comes out of nowhere. There's no real "voice" behind it. It is almost never earned in any real way or has any impact. It's just a momentary sideshow that's immediately forgotten.

It's pretty telling that, besides my occasional announcing of "I ate the whole plate!", I've never heard someone quote any of these movies, whereas Guardians of the Galaxy is still being endlessly referenced and sort of became the Internet's summer movie obsession. Not to mention the rest of the MCU, and the more definite lasting impact of Iron Man and the Avengers (not that GotG won't be held in similar regard).

And the difference there is pretty clear. All the humor in those movies are tied directly into the characters and their various psychologies and arcs. Like all good jokes (and stories, for that matter) there's setup and payoff. And in these movies... Not so much.

I am Groot has become a phenomenon.

I've yet to see the first "Fat ballerina!" related tweet.

What's so special about Groot? I came out of the cinema not giving a rat's arse about him?

No not really, Shane is 20, Tessa is 17. What's that a 3 year age gap?

Well he must be special given the fact that Marvel left out two Female members of Guardians of the Galaxy but had time to put in a racoon and a tree.
