Maybe your approach needs to be like all of the other third party Micromasters we have seen so far. Make some other, more mainstream character, but design him with a Micromaster remold/repaint in mind.

Or you could sell it as a combiner as being highly marketable... Make Countdown and Groundshaker the torso, then pick one patrol to become the 4 limbs. It worked for the Throttlebots! I think a Micromaster homage combiner could be the cheapest combiner out there, a real selling point.

What worked for the Throttlebots? We are STILL in stasis on the last three.

And my general point was this: some top quality mini scale Bots would do well. We've got a bunch of Big CityBots now they could work with and the potential to put out a lot from a sensible number of mould parts and simply swap parts and colours with different heads.

How would that sort of proposal be any less likelY to succeed or riskier than a big, multi-part combiner one of your direct competitors are also working on at the same time?

Yeah I don't think the 3rd party companies do not have their hand on the pulse of the fandom at all. Micromaster are awesome mostly because you can have display play sets that don't take up 1/4 of your room lol.

Even DX9? (are they just a designer/designers though? I'm sure Scaleface will correct me)

Isn't their whole thing a line of Legends scale figures to be compatible with Metroplex? Sneak these suckers in a two pack with a known character and bam!

The only Micromaster I'd be interested in is Swindler, but at a deluxe size. Because BttF.

Hate to be a downer, but the Micromasters are just guys I never really cared about or owned. Meanwhile there's so much else I want out there.

Meh, I love the Micromaster line. Maybe just put your product on hold for a year until the rest of the stuff people are hot for are outplayed, then do your thing. Also, maybe consider doing Micromaster versions of the larger bots to maintain interest.

I'm still interested in this should the Hasbro/Shapeways venture pan out.

I can't imagine that the Rescue Patrol Micromasters from Victory would not go down very well right now with Star Saber being released as an MP in the not too distant future.

Holi Stakeout/from the cartoon would be a great extra to go with Star Saber, and Fixit would be pretty relevant from being in the cartoon (doing the conga) and also from his appearances in IDW at the moment.

True, go with the "as seen in IDW comics" as a sales pitch for Fixit.

Thanks. Good luck. Personally I like the size shown here, but wanted to say that looks more like a mini-bot then a micromaster.
