I recently ordered MP-18S "Silverstreak" precisely for this reason. Cartoon and comic accuracy be damned! As a toy Bluestreak went on many adventures with his Autobot friends, but I can barely remember him from the cartoon so whenever I picture him the silver car is what I see.

Speaking of unpopular opinions and a prospective MP Ratchet, I would love it if they could pull off a version which has the toy's battle sled/repair bay with a mostly cartoon accurate body.

I agree with this, though for different reasons. To me, it's nothing but a crown, reducing the Autobots to primitive monarchism. To hell with that. I'd rather see the Matrix excised permanently from the role of Prime and have it be just an invention created by false Primes to justify their taking over, while real Primes are simply champions of Primus, whether or not anyone (including the Prime him/herself) believes it.

Speaking of Primus, I'd rather Primus to operate subtly, in the background, so that the Transformers don't even know if he exists or not. His quietness would allow Transformers the choice between good and evil, making the choice that much more meaningful and allowing free will to flourish.

As for Unicron, I'd just ignore him, aside from one version of the Primus Mythos where Primus already took care of that problem. According to this version, Primus had three generations of direct creation before allowing life to flourish on its own. The first generation, his first attempt at creating a sapient race, were massacred to the last by Unicron. Filled with Divine WrathTM, Primus wielded his second creations, the Star Saber, Skyboom Shield, and Requiem Cannon, against Unicron, killing the Chaos God and burying him in the dimensional equivalent of a shallow grave. With that taken care of, Primus created his third generation, the Transformers. As a side note, various weapons throughout Transformer history have been named after the weapons that Primus was said to have wielded in battle, at least, according to those that believe this version.

I totally agree with this. I'm not so much opposed to Primus and Unicron existing, but they should not be overt actors in Transformers stories. They should either act subtly or be part of a long forgotten or distantly remembered past.

I enjoy incompetent Transformers villains as much as competent ones. Heck, the same goes for the Autobots, too. I want to see characters on both sides that are total f@ck ups who do nothing right.

    I like B.O.T.

While I'm on the mystical artifact hate train, I might as well go on and say @#$% Primus and Unicron. I actually buy the Quintesson creation story over those two. It just seems like the more natural thing that would happen. Hell, we are probably destined to be the "Quintessons" our robot creations rebel against in the future.

I have no desire to own a toy version of the Masquerade combiner. In fact, I'd rather have the G2 Menasor, and maybe have the Stunticons repainted as Puzzler. There's six of them now, it almost makes perfect sense.

    ^ this.

And while we're on the topic of origins, I don't like the quints, Primus and unicron stuff.

When Galvatron appears in whatever media he appears in next, I want him to have the power to turn into a stream of cubes, either as a third mode or just an in between transformation sequence.

Yeah agreed. I think it'd work for a Galvatron that's a Herald of Unicron just showing how Unicron's heralds can Transform with extreme ease in an impossible way.

Also it would show the difference between Primus and Unicron's engineering of Transformers.

    Yeah it totally does. :lol

That would be a better way to handle the Matrix.

I can get behind that idea too.

I don't mind the fantasy elements in Transformers either.

    Seconded.

Also, I've always like the Primus/Unicron origins, but I agree that it'd be nice to see them be more in the background, nudging certain transformers to do one something destructive (In Unicron's case) or constructive (In Primus' case) that will set off a chain of events that will lead to the eventual goal of whichever one started the chain.

For example: Scorponok's whole "Survival of The Fittest" mentality in Monstrosity being a product of Unicron nudging him down a destructive path, while the Dinobots becoming the dinobots was a nudge by Primus, because he realized only Grimlock could stop Trypticon, so he set off events to ensure Grimlock was capable of doing it.

Though, on the side of the coin, I would like to see characters who are direct operatives for them, like The Fallen or Alpha Trion, but the rest of the Transformers don't know it.

Now for an unpopular opinion: Trying to find Transformers toys was more fun before the internet. Sure, it was tough, but, it was like a treasure hunt trying to find them.

I also like the more mythical side to Transformers. Primus, Unicron, The Falleb, Original 13, Matrix, etc. Then again I have always loved when Science Fiction and mystical/fantasy elements are combined. Kind of like Star Wars.

Also has no problem with the fantasy elements.

Not sure if I said this before or not, but I like the Quintessons and wish that they would show up more.

We need a dinobot combiner. A real one, not the beast, not PCC, not magmatron.

Why must every damn thing combine?? Gads, the idea of a dinobot combiner annoys me. The Dinobots are a team, and don't need to combine to be effective. Same with the Wreckers.

Okay, that's my contribution for the day- I fully dislike combiners and much prefer the individual team members.

I think the combiner gimmick should have been reserved for the Constructicons/Devastator. It keeps him unique in that aspect. I think that uniqueness was lost when they introduced more combiners.

Plus, when you think about it, having five or six guys combining to form one guy isn't an effective strategy in certain situations.

If that one guy is huge then it is effective.
