i can dig the design.. but i hope it's not a main line figure.. it looks rather cheap and simplistic. i hope this line doesn't suck.

So this is where all the miserable narrow-minded people hang out on this forum. I was wondering where they all were.

For those saying "can't be Grimlock, he's green"...well he was greenish in AoE. Hate to break it to purists, but Green might be his new color.

As much as I like that, I prefer cybernetic animals that blend in with the vehicle ones. I still wished Ratrapp was more comic accurate.

Nah man, we need more fuzz, flesh and feathers. It's BEAST Wars, not "animal-looking robots" Wars.

I'm really not saying Grimlock is going to be "better" or "worse" than before, just that the writers may not be willing to follow what has come before just because it is a sequel series in the "same" continuity.

Over the years this has cropped up enough (Beast Machines, Energon, Cybertron, Prime) for me to go in expecting a lot of secondary media (games, toy bios, especially comics) are probably not going to mean anything in regards to how the cartoon will handle characters.

They will handle Grimlock how they want to, even if that means he becomes a "new" character despite the name and trappings of old.

    Agreed

For now though that sculpt looks close enough to Animated to entice me. Eager to see more.

Based on that little preview image, it looks like RID Grimlock is gonna have the colors from the other RID Grimlock. Awww yeah.

Fail by your standards means what? Lasts 3 seasons, popular with fans, made a Botcon set completely from it's molds that is considered by many to be one of the best sets they've made, had 2 alamanacs that have been reprinted a couple times now, the mere mention of Marcelo being involved in something has sent many fans into foaming at the mouth for more details, the act of Derrick Wyatt drawing up any character in animated style makes news. The fact that it was "cancelled" on Cartoon Network is highly debated as it was also about the time Hasbro was moving to start it's own network and CN (if I remember correctly) moved it's time slot around a bit, making it difficult for people to find the show.

I think if you started a poll for which series fans would want to have continue, Animated would rank among the top.

I'm certainly not saying you should like the show, but saying the show failed seems pretty off. You didn't like the show, that's fine, there were a lot of people who didn't like Beast Wars, Beast Machines, Prime, the movies, Armada trilogy.

Yeah, I think a lot of people are going to be disappointed that there is a green Grimlock.

How dare you, sir. Everyone knows Transformers Energon was the height of Transformers storytelling to date and all fans love that show with it's fantastic animation, intricate plot lines and fascinating character studies. It is the one universal truth that all Transformers fans agree on.

You do realize this show is for kids, That you collect the same kids toys that everyone else here collects? It seems a bit hypocritical to refer to this particular direction of Transformers as baby stuff, when you collect the toys aimed at the exact same age demographic.

I'm curious what direction you would like to see Transformers go? More Beast Wars, which were some very simplistic transformations and an equally debated show when it aired.

I didn't mean to offend, clearly I couldn't count Energon, as it is in a class all it's own and it would be unfair for me to compare any series that exists now or that will ever exist to it.
