Finally near completion of my personal museum. Still have some stuff to put away as well as some stuff that I need to find display space for like my BT collection.
Excellent set up for your man cave! Really like how neat and organized it is, along with the lighting. I also dig how your staggered the positioning of your detolf shelves; gives it a more interesting and dynamic look. One thing though; I'd be nervous as hell about those expensive 3P combiners on that side shelf just hanging out there in the open like that. One bad spill/tumble, and yikes!
Yeah, I was hesitant at first as well but the desk is heavy as all hell which means even bumping into it doesn't make anything move on the desk. They've been up there since February and nothing has fallen down.
Very clean and bright. Can't wait till I have more space for a clean look. Love it when things aren't cluttered. Don't know much about the Valk's (I think that is what they are) but they look great on display.
Ah cool! G1 Jetfire color variants! You're a true collector! Also, can you describe your lighting system? Do you just flip a switch and it all lights up? What about light and toy damage? Thoughts there? Also, get those Alts/BTs out, boy!
The under the counter lights are Duracell LEDs. Costco sells them in two packs and includes batteries. They have an optional motion sensor setting you can use but I just manually turn each one on and off since I only use them when guests are over. All the bulbs for the recessed lighting in the room are LEDs as well. Tha ALTs are out! Not sure how to display the MIB BTs though.
All of the "Robotech" comments are hilarious. Inspiring stuff Ron. Loving it. I want to come by for a visit.
Seriously, considering I only have four items from Robotech. Although I prefer to say that I have none and those four items are from Southern Cross and Mospeada. I would never admit I own Robotech stuff. You SHOULD come visit! We have plenty of room if you need a place to crash!
When I bought the Detolfs, I played around with where to put them in the room and came to the conclusion that only the middle and staggered can offer a 360° view of all the figures inside.
