Very quick fix of the new voyager classic optimus UPDATE CHROME REMOVAL

I never bought the original so i was glad to get the chance by getting the evolution 2 pack.
I actually like this version better except the chest area was much to plain and too red.
I was going to tint the windshield blue like the original but saw that a simple paint app on the molded seats in the cab did the trick.
Took no time at all but completely changed the way his upper body looks.

In hand looks much better than the pics.
Having details in the cab brought depth to the area and ties in very very well with the 2 silver painted sections under the windows.
Again, a simple paint app changed how his upper body looks.

Its not that i dont like chrome... Ok ok i dont, but it was the fact that the arms were not chromed matching the legs that made me give him the super clean bath.

But left the grille and bumper.... I love it.

I like that a lot. It adds more depth to his visible chest cavity. Really nice way to bring out subtle details like that.

It does look better. I haven't opened mine yet. How easy is it to access that area? Also, I am curious as to what paint you used...it looks like some sort of light gray.

Can you tighten the shoulders while painting? I'm hoping to kill two birds with one stone.

Easiest thing ever. Its old school hasbro so the entire toy is screwed together.
4 screws and the entire top section is apart.
I used a silver sharpie and was able to tighten all joints.
    Total 10-15 min

Decent idea, but wonder what it would have looked like in a blue, like the old G1 toy.

I plan on removing the paint on his eyes to reveal the blue light piping. I'd like to do this as well and tighten up his joints.

For those who asked... It took 10 hours of soaking.
Not sure why as other things ive removed chrome on took minutes.
Maybe hasbro added a clear coat to the chrome areas.
