We may be right that it was Blackout buddy but not everyone can be convinced. Everyone has their point of view of the films.

 

Just pointing out that the Official TF Movie Showdown thing has Grindor listed as appearing in ROTF, and the video of him from the forest fight.

 

What I like to think of it is that the character IS blackout resurrected but he goes by Grindor now.

 

Bumblebee began as a rusted up Camaro. Newness doesn't have to equal cleanliness. If Grindor scanned his alt-mode when Blackout scanned his, then he has had that alt mode for years, so naturally it would wear/weather over time, ESPECIALLY if he's doing things like battling other robots.
I mean, robot is going to look only as good as the vehicle it scans. If he scanned one of the choppers post-TFTM battle, then he probably scanned one that was fresh from the fight.

Which does make me wonder: If it was easier for them to simply reuse an old character model, to save time, why then spend the extra time to rust it up?

 

Exactly! This is why I think the intention was for the Character to be Blackout.

But I will say I personally think grindor is blackout. Remember the deep 6 scene? At first they said there were 5 contacts diving fast. Scrapper died to give Megatron more parts. Then once Megatron was reborn they reported 6 contacts "coming up fast". Its most likely an inconsistency error but I like to think it confirms blackout being resurrected.

 

That'd make a lot more sense than Grindor who just looks suspiciously the exact same as Blackout.

Same body type in robot mode. Different alt mode. Different characters. Punch, hold, slide, repeat. The abyss scene where they claim now six contacts were there was just to hammer the point home that Megs had been revived. An oversight on behalf of the writers, I guess. Grindor =/= Blackout.

 

Not this again. LISTEN grindor was originally suppose to be Blackout and he was suppose to be revived in the deep 6 scene but it got cut. They still however needed 3 decepticons to fight Optimus so they just left his design in the fight and called him a new character.

 

Prime wanted his face so he could see in close detail if it was the same guy or not.

 

Someone want to ask Hasbro and just be done with this thread?

 

Hasbro already said it was Grindor who appears in ROTF like five years ago.

Pretty much exactly this. They are even different colors. Blackout was blue-ish gray, and Grindor was more white/light gray. Just because they have similar body types does not mean they're the same character. Examples: G1 Seekers, Decepticon Protoforms, the Bonecrusher clone in RotF, The Sideways, Longhaul, and Scrapper clones in DotM.
