Just dropped $289 on the Masei helmet. The preorder page only offered Hikaru's colorway for some reason. I emailed them asking for Roy's instead. My wife is going to KILL me.
Went go-karting this weekend for a fellow Macross fan's bachelor party. I think it's the first time I've ever wished that I had bought one of the Macross bike helmets to use. Anyway, Ron, is your 1/55 Hikaru 1S a custom? Seems like it's painted.
If I do, I think Viv will divorce me. I AM going to put the helmet atop one of the Detolfs though. ALTHOUGH! ALTHOUGH! I COULD wear it snowboarding! At $289, I couldn't pass up the helmet considering what the Yamato ones went for and those are street legal. I just hope I can get Roy's version. If not, I can live with Hikaru's. The 1/55 isn't custom. I did touch up some paint chipped areas though.
That's way better than the ones I was thinking about. I know about the original Yamato ones with the chestplate option but another company did a regular street legal helmet just with the red or yellow painted on the forehead area.
Does the visor open? Super interested. I go kart with my car group fairly often, they would all think I was nuts lol Have there been pics of the Roy helmet shown?

Just checked their preorder page again and it says that the clear visor is removable. I'm kind of confused though. I think you're the first person to notice it.
Nice collection Razerwire. I like how all the valks are in Detolfs and your transformers get the less prestigious crowded "open" displays. XD My valks are mostly still in boxes.

Sounds like a crash helmet is a good investment and exactly what you needs then. Honestly, surely your wife should support anything that keeps you safe.... in.... your.... toy... man... cave...
