No, there are other reasons, but that is one of my main reasons.

At this very moment, i can literally watch any movie ever made, theres more than netflix out there. Physical media is dying, much like photographs, only special ones will make their way to a physical copy.

Physical media will never die no matter what kind of bullshit line people barf up.

And really? You can watch any movie ever made on a streaming set up? That's cute. Let's see, of the 50 Film Noirs I want to see, I have found a total of 9 of them online to watch. Where am I looking? Netflix, Vudu, Amazon, Crackle, Hulu, On Demand, Crunchyroll, and two other places I cannot think of at this moment.

Also, last year I tried to stream the Halloween movies, but the only ones anyone had to watch were the crappy ass Rob Zombie ones and the sixth movie.

NO, sorry, you cannot watch any movie you want to online when you want without illegally downloading them. Oh, and with the cost of getting a subscription with all of those services, I could just buy the damn disc.

No kidding. There is no absolute way to get everything. It's really sad there are still things impossible to get legally. As for physical media.... it will always be around because there will always be people who want it. It's freaken insane that studios (or who ever) want full price for digital only movies. You know damn well in 5 years (or sooner) that movie will be gone. Even the rental prices are way to high....... $5-$10 to watch a film on demand?

Stuff like Netflix sounds good to a lot of people right now.... but if everything switched over to that, the prices would sore.

In the end if I'm going to pay real money.... I want something real for it.

I really slowed down on buying DVDs but haven't gone to BluRay or NetFlix. Just haven't really had the time and my money's been funneled into my business (that's finally starting to get somewhere).

The last movie I actually tried to buy was the first new Captain America movie. Winter Soldier was in, or had just left, theatres, so I thought I could pick it up for $20 or less. Nope, $32.99 everywhere I went. I haven't paid $30 for a non-anime DVD since the very early 2000s.

^^ I paid $19 for the Winter Soldier 3D blu-ray DVD combo on amazon?

Edit: I was going to post the link so I just went to Amazon but they raised the price $10. I guess I'm lucky I got it when I did.

Anyone have a growing collection of Digibook releases? Of all the different kinds of cases, these are my favorite. I've got like 24 at the momment...... just added Ghostbusters 1&2 a few days ago. I haven't gone so far as to double dip on any titles, but I will go out of my way to get a digibook if it's offered apon release.

Try and keep in mind not everybody in the world is as privileged and spoiled as you are. Cheap high speed internet is far from a reality worldwide. There's no point in me spending $10 (internet usage costs) to download a movie that will take longer to download than to watch. It's cheaper for me to order DVDs and Blu-Rays online with free shipping. I can then lend them out to other people. It's just common sense.

By the way photographs are not 2GB in size that's why they died out. They were small enough in digital size to work with.
