Got my agent Vernon at Kent/Des MOINES Walgreens. Three more left.

I'm not really a Legends person, but since these are the X-Men and they are running currently with the comics, I'll have to pick them up. Hm! Select Marvel items on sale. Deal!

    TF Washingtonians!

I'm looking for some advice on selling off some of my Transformers. Last weekend my wife and I started going through the toys I've accumulated over the years. It's been on my list for some time, but I really needed to reduce my collection so we started sorting things into keep/sell/think about it piles. I would prefer to just get everything at once instead of piecing it out over a period of time. Would it be beneficial to go someplace like Amazing Heroes: Toys and Games (* - Home) or take my chances with Craigslist/ebay/Amazon marketplace? I suppose another option would be to try out the for sale forum of tfw2005, but I've never used that feature. 46 figures so far, mostly movie 1 & 2 with some Universe Classics 2.0 and such. We've only done a first pass of the figures so I expect more to be added.

You may be asking yourself, who is this guy (a fair question)? I've been coming to this site since 2006/2007 but haven't really participated all that much. I joined while I was living in Reno and it was a way for me to read about current TF news and catch up on things I missed since I was a kid. Feel free to PM me because I know this isn't exactly the appropriate subsection of the tfw2005 forums for this conversation. Any words of wisdom or a point in the right direction would be much appreciated. Thanks.

First, I'd laboriously go through eBay's COMPLETED and SOLD (read: not live listings) items to get the average live auction and fixed listing selling price of the figures to get an idea of total value. Also consider selling online like that will take 12%-15% in fees, and that selling as a lot will always get less per figure.

You may want to try all the local shops, including Boba Khan and Toy Stable to see what they offer, in addition to Amazing Heroes.

Otherwise, I'd recommend eBay or Craigslist since there's a chance you'll get more. Splitting stuff into lots for Classics, Movie, etc would be wise.

I'd personally skip the Junkion Exchange here or other social media. Individual stuff does OK, but you'll just get a lot of low offers (probably from part-time sellers) and requests for individual figures - likely the best/most valuable figures.

If you're looking to sell everything in one go as one lot, your options are severely limited.

Any store that buys and resells toys is going to lowball you, especially as a lot, because your good pieces will be outweighed by the bad ones. They also need to resell the figures themselves, so if a piece sells for $20, you're lucky if you get $10 for it. Then they have to factor in the toys that most likely won't sell, if they want to buy them at all.

Craigslist, in my opinion, is awful -- you'll get nothing but low offers and wastes of time.

I would just throw it on eBay as a lot but you're going to get far, far more if you piece everything out. You'll get stuck with some duds but that's just what happens. Taking the quick approach means less money.

I picked up the only Rattrap and Tankor at Bellevue TRU. I also got one of the Legends Cliffjumpers. There were a couple left as well as some Nemesis Primes.

Coming to local meetups can help you get rid of some items, and you won't have to pay any shipping.

Don't go to places like BobaKhan. You'll get lowballed.

Damn, there was at least one left when I left. At least they're starting to come to the area.

I saw the Walmart exclusive movie combo packs at N. Fed Way Walmart. I want those BB legends X2, but I can't pay $25 for the 3 pack or $15 for the 2 pack. So if anyone has those and don't want them I'll buy them off you.

Wish I could help, but the Walmart exclusives are terrible this go-around.

I can't speak for others, but I certainly had no luck when I went out looking for Jetfire this past weekend.
