The DIC stuff had advantage cuz their animation was better than sunbow n filmation. But MASK storywise just doesnt hold up but youll find inspector gadget holding up pretty well.

I loves my MOTU toys but the toon was crap.

Real GB n TMNT was great, really.

Dont think i can give an objective view on TF but yeah, animation less than stellar.

Also a shoutout to bbc toons like count duckula n danger mouse. Humor was great in those n even as adult they hold up.

Edit: I think if i were to put aside my fondness for g1, thundercats is better. On par in terms of stories n not bad action/animation.

Theres also a bunch of JAPANIME but for some reason i compartmentalize them from the american stuff. Mospeada n robotech were cool, so were starblazers n BOTP. but i got a thing for SAAAAAABEEEER RIIIIIDEEEEER and the star sherrif *whipping sound*

Oh shit i forgot entirely about GALAXY RANGERS FUDGE YEAH

Oh, shit! How could I forget Ghostbuster?! One of my absolute favorites! I was crazy about it! Who was the primary animation studio on that? Was it Toei?

DIC was hit or miss. Like Sunbow, they were a production company that farmed out animation duties to animation studios. I remember COPs looking great but shows like Dinosaucers and their GI Joe episodes were not particularly well drawn.

Danger Mouse was great, and COPS wasn't bad either.
Another one not yet mentioned: Dungeons and Dragons. Very underrated show.

Good one on D&D! That was one of the first cartoons I remember loving. That and He-Man. I must have been in Kindergarten.

Yeah, Ghostbusters was awesome. Used to watch that all the time.

M.A.S.K.?? Really?? That show was awful. Maybe the toys were fun to play with (IDK) but the show was dreck.

    DRECK I SAY!!

I need a big list of every toon made in the 80s. Then I could really go through and weed out the gems.

    *edit*

OMG I can't believe I forgot about DuckTales, Rescue Rangers, TaleSpin, and Darkwing Duck. Not to mention Count Duckula. Also watched lots of Garfield and Friends, HeathCliff, Alvin and the Chipmunks and Inspector Gadget.

And uh. . . yeah, I used to love The Getalong Gang. :p

    which Voltron?

anyway, from this list I would say I enjoyed transformers the most.

but others on that list were better made.
and so many didn't make the list.
one of my favorites was the Bionic 6

Out of the list, the only series I have a bond with is TMNT. Mainly by seeing episodes of it as a young kid in the early 90's.

Was just about to type "Why no Robotech?"

As much as I enjoyed Transformers, Robotech/Other get's my vote.

I voted "Other" for Robotech. As much as I despise HG, I do give them credit for bringing Macross to US viewers.

Cartoon-wise, it blew everything else out of the water.

apparently some of these shows weren't on channels 3, 6, and 12 lol or I was already outside playing because I am 36 and I don't know what inhumanoids, centurions, silverhawks, the mighty orbots, robotech or the spiral zone are. My parents didn't have satellite till I was in high school.

It was short and sweet but Visionaries was the standout cartoon I watched as a kid. It's also aged remarkably well.
