What version is this Prime? I think it's a Striker but it has Asian paperwork DA-28. I thought Asian Primes were metallic? Some people tell me it's a KO as well. I am just trying to nail it down. Thanks!

That's definitely the first release of DOTM Striker Optimus Prime. There was a second "Asia Premium" release painted up all silver and chrome, which is probably what you're thinking of.

So does both versions have paperwork in Japanese? Are you saying this is an Asian Prime? I can't even recall where I got him from.

I think it's the Striker Prime also since I've got the chrome version of it

Would a KO have this paperwork and card? How can I tell it apart? Thanks.

A KO would have the same paperwork. I could be wrong, but I believe the red toes indicate it's a KO.

I never got a Striker Optimus, but then I was never going to, two versions (ROTF Leader and DOTM Jetwang) are more than enough for me.

I wasn't aware that Striker Prime had been ko'ed, but then again I can't say I've kept up with it.

The KO (at least on mine) has some pretty bad white stress marks at the base of the smokestack hinges right out of the box. Also I believe the abs are the darker grey - not the lighter grey in the OP pic. I don't have him in front of me so could be wrong on that though.

Man it's tough. I wish I knew. I want to sell this now but want to make sure I know what I am selling. With 3 kids at young ages now is not to time to have him and I don't want to stick him in a box.

Then arm him up to the max so he looks awesome and display him on a shelf in your home office/mancave fortress/fireplace mantle. Given how that particular mold is notoriously difficult to transform and...

...possible quality issues that could destroy the figure if transformation is even attempted (ignore that if you've already transformed it and it survived), robot mode is the better display option. Plus, since it's a KO, it shouldn't have the annoying "I AM OPTIMUS PRIME" soundbox trigger that goes off way too easily when the official version of that toy is handled.

No. I think this is supposed to be a take on Optimus's flight form from the film (at least a more accurate one than the butterfly trailer midget "Supreme Class" Prime), but since that was robot-mode, the alt. mode is augmented to account for the kibble that can't go in the non-existent trailer.

It survived. Only other review I could find on youtube at the time was Benscollectibles and his had the same problem but he never addressed it in his video but you can clearly see the stressed hinges.

Oh and it will say "I AM OPTIMUS PRIME" if you put the batteries back in. Ya leave em out...

Will the KO speak like that? Or only the original?

Nah. They already have the flight pack (Jetwing optimus Prime). This is based on the concept art of a possible Stealth mode (Weaponised Vehicle mode) for Prime. It wasn't used in the film.

Does DA-28 indicate it's a KO or is there an authentic version titled DA-28?

DA-28 is on the original. No idea if the KO is the same or not.
