Why not sell on Exhaust, but keep the accessory.

 

I have no interest in Exhaust nor Star Saber (great that they're being released for those that want them though).

The only thing I want from Exhaust are his shoulder cannons, as the G1 Wheeljack toy holds more memories for me compared to the cartoon. However, I just cant justify paying the money just for the shoulder cannons, since I've never been a fan of the marlboor colour scheme. (Not that I haven't bought a figure before just for accessories, I did buy SoundBlaster just for Ratbat but I actually like SB's colours, so it was worth it to have a "spare" Sound(blaster)wave.)

Anyhoo, enough about those other MPs, I believe this is the Wheeljack thread... so very much looking forward to WJ, only a couple more weeks until his release. Then maybe one more week shipping and he will finally be in my hands.

 

I was just about to say that I'm surprised that there is all this focus on the immobilizer, yet nobody has even mentioned the should cannons.

 

I'm defiantly hoping a 3rd party makes duel cannons for Wheeljack, I always wondered why the cartoon was missing one when I was a kid.

 

I'm hoping some 3P does Wheeljack's shockblast cannon.

All the usual players have little to no decription (BBTS, TFSource, etc. etc.)

Dub-K Toys has him for $75 with free shipping, but their note about "no coin included" has me wondering if they are selling the same item as everyone else.

It's the other way around.. no coin is the default. You shouldn't assume it will be there unless stated.

 

This is my assumption as well. Just trying to get the some confirmation, or if nothing else opinions, that these guys are all selling the same thing.

If so, why not save $5 + shipping.
I havnt preordered MPs before so hoping some of you in the know can share some opinions.

 

What would really make me happy would be the two shoulder cannons and a replacement head that was accurate to the G1 head. The one he has is fine. But the G1 toy head is one of my favorite TF heads ever. I'm actually getting 2 Wheeljacks just so I can attempt to mod his head into the G1 without being terrified of wrecking him.

 

Nah. I'll keep him. I won't display him, though, as he doesn't fit with my cartoon themed MP collection. Probably keep him on my desk to mess with. I'll definitely display his box with the rest, though.

 

You guys see the new shot of Wheeljack from the Korean show on the front page? Sure is looking like alt mode's white is mostly bare plastic. Still looks beautiful, though.

 

there are a lot of variables.. you must pick what you want. With each, understand what their billing and cancelation policy is, what shipping costs there will be, and when they should get inventory. Less obvious, some people have a history of overselling their pre-sales... but that varies based on who you listen to.

Asian/Japan shops - HobbyLinkJapan, Amine Export, RocketKingdom, are all common ones. The price will be cheaper, but you must account for higher shipping costs and longer shipping times. Customer service/returns are more difficult. They can often get the product before the state-side shops.

BBTS/TFSource - the big two US domestic ones.

Then there are the smaller ones - like ToyDojo, Acetoystore, CapturedPrey, and others.

There is no 'one answer' you must decide what matters to you. Comfort for CS/returns... when they will arrive.. when they bill you.. what are their cancel/return policies, etc.

My current pre-order list is all over the place.. including ToyDojo, Ace, Robotkingdom, Amazon... Each item had different 'who was best' for that item.

 

Are there Japanese vendors (other than Amazon) selling the Amazon versions with the hypno device?

Hmmm...From those pics, it definitely looks like his shoulders and upper arms are bare, but it's hard to tell with the alt mode....

 

Yep, looks as though the alt mode is white plastic. A shame, as it detracts from the G1 toy feel, but he still looks great. Bumblebee seems to be painted, still, though - and it looks as though the coloured one on show is no longer a painted prototype, but coloured plastic. Maybe it was more difficult to match the yellows, ore maybe it's because on Wheeljack, there is only a minimal amount of the translucent roof that has white paint on it, so they thought they could get away with not using paint everywhere else? Oh well, I suppose it at least means I won't have any factory workers' eyelashes in the bonnet, which will make a nice change.  

 

The shins/feet/hood like white plastic, unfortunately. Quite the departure from the other car bots.

I dunno. I like to think of the pubes in their finish as proof that they're made with a lot of tlc.

Yeah, it doesn't quite look the same at the other carbots in terms of paint coverage, but ever since we started seeing this production piece, the overall look of the thing has skyrocketed for me. It is SO much better looking now. Way better - so I am very happy with the choices Takara has made in terms of deco and materials.

Wheeljack I love you. Have my babies.

 

As long as it's a pure plastic I could care less haha
The original was a bone white plastic so it works.

 

I'm just happy to see it finished.
