Hello again! This is my latest Monsterbot, Raptalien. He was made using Fox Kids Dinobot as the base, utilizing Beast Machines Skydives wings, Transmetal2 Cybershark's dorsal and tail fins,, a BW Waspinator hip joint and socket for the bioraptor neck, a BW Jetstorm head on a wonky balljoint neck, and 2 Transmetal Tarantulas drumsticks and a couple of different random balljoints and sockets for the eye(ear)? stalks and tail base, and lastly, 2 peengina snakes from Prometheus for the split tail end. Initially, I was going to use an old BW Grimlock as the base, but the GPS had taken hold and it crumbled, so I sacrificed Dinobot, simply switching the tail and head around. This was equal parts fun and frustration, and it's not as clean in the bioraptor mode as I would have liked, but the robot head that I chose for aesthetic effect, and the tail joints barely fit, and I had to trim the tail base back for transformation purposes. Some parts had to be reinforced with JB Weld, as it forms a far stronger bond than Citadel Green Stuff. Raptalien was given a primer coat of skull white, and then several diluted coats of Bleached Bone, then given some color using Shadow Grey and Fortress Grey mixed together, and then Shadow Grey over top of that. There is also Liche Purple, with highlights of Warlock Purple (the Warlock Purple only highlighting the 3 eyes on his robot head... I think you're being generous here. (That or I'm being nitpicky, since I see a few.) I'll bite, though, lol... What is it?

 

Look real close at the alt form head, then look at a pic of the creature from the film.

 

Ahhh, the eye/ear stalks? Yeah I know they are more of an auditory sensor organ than they are eyes, but they are essentially used to "see". Their appearance, as well as the hollowed spaces in the upper and lower crests will actually be explained once I've finished all of the Monsterbots, and I have them together in group thread, with bios. Or, I could just say it here... Raptalien is a very feral and savage fighter, and kept breaking his beast head, effectively blinding himself. So Monsterbot Commander Repugnus had him get that super reinforced, and , as a result, it doesn't quite look the same as the actual creatures do... Also, I just liked the way it looked.

 

Welp, I'm gonna have nightmares for the next couple of nights...

Great job, though. It looks awesome. I have enjoyed all of these monsterbots you are making!

You do some wonderful customs bro, and I AM A FAN.

 

I was thinking, if you went to a craft shoppe and bought some red little beads, the clear ones, they would fit perfectly in the screw holes on the antennae eye stalks on each sside of the head would make this thing pretty scary. Reminds me of a Guillermo Del toro creation! Either way, I love this thing

 

This is impressive. I had already seen some of your wonderful customs in your comics, but this is just great.

It's such a coincidence that just the other day I remembered these monsters and started looking information about them!

It liiiives...murrrr, lol... I hadn't planned on making any monsterbots based on those actually. Those creatures didn't really catch my interest that much. But, who knows, if I find the right mold to work with, I might give it a shot!

I did see that. Too bad Blot's alt mode looks so rough. Its like they left all the bot parts part's exposed when they designed the alt mode. Nice abominus though!
