    TF1 was amazing...
    TF2 was a mess
    TF3 was ok
TF4 was the biggest hunk of crap I've ever watched...I seriously still want my money back..

So what now? I really think its time to reboot...
Even though TF4 looks now to have a TF5 and TF6 story-line connecting does anyone really care?

With the GIJOE movies going down the crap road also and this latest TMNT looking like shit is it time to let some fresh-makers make some freshness?

These movies should be as dope as anything of the latest Marvel or DC level but they just arnt... such a waste...I know the movie execs researching these forums (and trust me they do) are saying "We made loads of $, you are wrong"...Well.. not really, you made a lot of money from people who a) hoped these movies wouldn't suck (they did) and b) people who wanted to see a film that day... but you missed the mark, the money you could of made from spin offs as in toys, Tshirts... spin of movies/cartoons and anything more that cross pollinates from one of these movies once the buzz starts from the movie being amazing was not there and you know it...no one gave a fuck about those age of extinction toys...shirts etc and go check your sales stats I bet they where down next to the other movies...

Even if this latest slab of bullshit you call a Transformers movie was one of the highest earning films of all time remember this, the price of movie tickets has gone up since Star Wars ET ect came out...and those movies are classics, TF4 was not...no one will give a fuck about tf4 in 10 years or 1 for that matter...

So is it time for a Reboot in the hands of a person who's true passion is Transformers? I say yes...

    I say yes indeed...

Friend, no one is asking you to watch these movies. I understand where you're coming from and how you feel the way you do, but to be honest you're not gonna see a Transformers reboot for at least another decade or so.

You either love it, hate it, or don't mind it.

When Hasbro stops making money on the franchise and/or miraculously TF5 fails, your chances will be greater. Greater, but still unlikely.

EDIT: Also, this isn't much of a discussion topic. You merely vented your opinion so everyone can now read it. Respect those with other views as that is the point of the discussion forums. Cussing and foul language makes your reasoning even less apparent and more childish.

This is where you find out that ppl like stuff you don't (and vice versa) and then they just release what they want to.

I do think it's time for a reboot. For me, I want an actual cohesive story. I want the Transformers to be the main focus of a movie trilogy, that's suppose to be about them. As much as Bay and Ehren love their human characters, last I checked, these movies were not called 'Humans'. I'm tired of the Transformers playing second fiddle to a bunch of crappy human characters. The antagonists should be Decepticons, not decepti-humans. I'm also sick and tired of Bots and Cons randomly disappearing or being killed off just to introduce new characters. To me, that's very lazy writing with zero creativity. AOE was one ginormous retcon and plot hole fest. Yes,aesthetically it was good and we got a smidge more Bot interaction. However, there really was no character development, save for Optimus. We had explosions galore, non stop chase sequences and the token sexified teenage girl. We jad Shane, who did nothing. We had the blonde scientist lady who did nothing.Lucas, who was a waste of screentime. Wasted screentime for cameos of Chinese stars and military officials that most of us have never heard of. Over the top product placement. I'm glad there were people who liked AOE. For me though, the movie was a hot mess. Which is why I'm hoping Bay means it when he says he's not coming back. I think it's time for a fresh vision of Transformers by someone whose as big of a Transformers fan as we all are.

I agree, it really bothers me that NOTHING is explained in Bayformers films, and yes I was thinking the EXACT same about the humans.
    Great points.

I'll cohesively tell you what you ask from me. As a junior filmmaker I've had to deal with my own fair share of criticisms both from me as well as criticisms directed towards me.

I will straight up tell you that I thoroughly enjoyed Transformers: AOE. It was a huge step up from the previous three in many regards, including much more screen time for our fellow Autobots. As a person who grew up with these movies, I felt much more emotion when watching fellow characters suffer/die. The scene with Ratchet gave me chills every time I watched it.

Lets not forget that this movie is almost a reboot in its own right. No mention of Shia Laquack and his merry band of not GI Joes, redesignes at every turn, and a much different tone of film altogether.

As Cinemasins always says, however, no movie is without sin. I agree that Age of Extinction was flawed in certain places, but these flaws are commonplace in many movies lately.

One thing I've absolutely never seen people do is give credit to Michael Bay and the writers for doing something other films may not do: Taking risks.

The inclusion of Dinobots was a risk. Drifts design? Risk. Crosshairs's trenchcoat? Risk. Hound and his cigar? Definite risk. All things that must visually appeal to the audience, and quite frankly in such a large production like this, visual appeal is a must.

I've always enjoyed the unique ideas presented in each film and that's what has always drawn me in. Every movie had its own unique charm elements.

Movie 1 will simply retain the charm of being the first Transformers to ever reach live action, and of course the Arrival to Earth sequence was beautiful.

Revenge of the Fallen has the twins, power up Optimus, Jetfire, the Forest Battle sequence.

Dark of the Moon had the whole Autobots Exile sequence and the Battle of Chicago, Sentinel Prime, and even Hobo Megatron.

Age of Extinction has the Autobots Hunted theme, Dinobots, Lockdown, and Galvatron.

Where else would we see these things? I'm certain no cartoon in the past has dared to do such things.

I'd love to see the live action series make it to the final movie. A definitive ending. A long ride finally reaching its end. And after the recovery from that long ride we shall soon embark on the next long ride, and most likely when that time comes people will be having this exact same conversation.

    -Till all are one.

I'm gonna go with no (maybe after #5 though). I say this because we just went through a halfway reboot with this one. I really think there was a decent movie in there somewhere, but between catering to the Chinese market (which was a success at the boxoffice there), developing new humans and transformer characters, and useless sideplots and irrelevant characters, the story got a bit jumbled. I am willing to let the dust settle in TF5, but would also enjoy a planned out trilogy sometime in the future.

Its time to end the movies for about a decade and let the dust settle from the Bay debauchery then reboot.

I usually don't approve this but after seeing AOE, it think it's probably a good time for one
