Found exactly one Rattrap and one Tankor at Target today. Grabbed both. Rattrap is cool. I love the robot mode, and the rat mode looks great. My only complaint is the transition between them. I thought Rhinox was annoying. I thought Big Convoy was annoying. But Rattrap is one of the most obnoxious transformations I've had to deal with in recent memory. I've gotten him into rat mode twice, and neither time did I manage to get all the panels to line up properly. Maybe I just need more practice, but it still seems needlessly complex and I'm rather frightened to force the plastic given how thin it is. If this guy breaks, I've no idea whether I'll be able to score a new one.
sohis tail is suppose to be bendable? Looks like i got a dud as mine doesnt hold a pose other than straight out
God I hope that Waspinator/Skids rerelease wave ends up real. It sucks that I (andf others) missed out on them.
Did the leg mod. Thank you Optimusfan! I like him, I tried tricking my cat with it. She was curious until she sniffed it. The plastic feels weird, kind of fragile, but still sturdy. I don't mind it. The rat hand joints were stiff, so I won't move them at all once I got them into their rat position. The price tag was nice as well, less than ten at Walmart.
What's the leg mod?? Also it seems you can store his weapon in robot mode as well. Itplus nicely between the shoulder blades of the rat arms and the back plate. Secures rather nicely in there, and you can barely notice It's there.
I'm still so terrified to open up my Rattrap. I might have to wait until I get an extra one just in case.
the leg mod is simple and it works great. i don't have the fear of snapping his legs into a billion pieces everytime i mess with him. and you don'd need to shave it off all the way, just a little to make the joint transform more smoothly.
Nothing like living in fear of breaking a $10 toy. Lol Dude just open it all you have to do is be careful the first few times you transform him. Yes his shins are quite stiff out the package, but I never felt like they were going to break
Yeah, just gently shave the plastic down around the tight spots with an X-acto knife. If you do it right, the joints move easier and you'll never be able to see a visible difference.
Make that $17.99...before tax. Just found the only one at my Kmart and I'm not driving all over Miami to find him at a better price.
I don't have my Rattrap yet, but I believe that Transmetal Rattrap's hands are smaller than the standard 5mm.
I just got Rattrap today. Got him out of the package. Set him on my desk for a minute while I opened up Tankor who I also just got. Heard a sound as if something had fallen off my desk. I didn't notice anything missing so I went back to messing with Tankor. Finally put Tankor down and started to see about transforming Rattrap. As I picked him up I found out what had fallen off my desk. One of his front beast legs was loose enough right out of package that it had managed to completely fall off just sitting on my desk. I have no idea where it is now. The other leg also seemed to be loose but I've managed to tighten that one. At some point when I have some free time I really need to clean the clutter that is my desk and find his other leg. Right now I have a three legged rat. - = edit = - Would just like to update you that I just found his missing leg. Some how it ended up under my desk on the opposite side where he had been sitting when it fell off. No wander I couldn't find it, I was looking where it actually could have fallen. At least it didn't take me a year to find it. (Earlier this year I found a missing DVD from a stack that had fallen over on the opposite side of the room from where I finally ended up finding it.) Don't ask me how things keep ending up no where near where I loose them at. I blame ghosts.
Question: Is the part that holds his butt/tale supposed be able to rotate 180 degrees or something? It seems like it should, since it appears to be on a sort-of swivel, but I can't imagine it would do much good to rotate it, and it stresses the other joints in that area, so I don't want to press my luck.
