Update! Onslaught's robot mode is 95% done. I added a cool optical illusion of twin cannon turret complete with twin mortar cannons. Also added a custom painted rifle to his arsenal as well as a few sticker details. All he needs is his new noggin and he'll be finished. Combaticon: Blast-Off is in the works. Stay Tuned! I hope you all like ?

I'm typically not a backpack fan but in this case it works well. Nice work, man!

Much appreciated. I'm not a fan of the backpack style much too. This was the only sound method I could go with to make him more accurate.

Update! Onslaught is finally done. I sculpted a head for him. This was my first attempt at it. I hope you all like ? I'm rather pleased with the outcome of this part to the Bruticus project.

 

Works really well, and you handled the backpack and cannon issues as well. Head looks good but being the ol' G1 purest I would like to seen it in black. So do you plan on using the combiner feet, legs and so forth to form the trailer section, similar to the FOC Bruticus add-on kit? Be sweet if you did. I have had an idea of using this mold as Motormaster, so I am keen on seeing how you pull off the combined form.

 

I thought the head was the same color as the body. Being a G1 cartoon fan I used still shots for reference. The trailer will not be used for Bruticus mode but I got some other cool ideas for the project.

What figure did you use for Blast off?

 

I used a TF Energon: Jetfire for the base figure. I'm really pleased with the results.   Would anyone have a suggestion for for the cannons for Bruticus backpack ? I was considering using Gundam pieces but I'm unsure. Suggestions welcome.

Leader class Brawl from the 2007 movie has some great cannons that also have light pipes in them!

 

leader class brawl is very expensive. at least the ones I've seen tend to be but it's definitely worth checking out thanks for the suggestion
