Because he's a goddamn monster. He literally lacks the Cybertronian equivalent of a soul, defying their very species' beliefs in it, and he has no fear because he's already destroyed possibly one of the most sacred things they could believe
Because the script never made any sense. Almost every exchange was amped to sound 200% cooler at the cost of actually making sense.
I think by no soul Optimus means an actual physical spark. Whatever essence of Megatron remains in Galvatron, Galvatron lacks a physical spark that can be extinguished. Therefore, Galvatron has no need to fear his spark getting extinguished from battle or other physical damage.
It's sort of like the zombie problem. You can't kill something that is already dead. Fear of death and fear of injury and common and simple enough. But if you can't be wounded, if you're a zombie or whatever Galvatron qualifies as, then you have no fear, because you have no risks, because you can't die.
He has no soul, so he has nothing to lose. If he has nothing to lose, there's no reason for having fear.
I think he was just being dramatic as Megs/galvs likes to be, but souless beings, demons, have no fear because nothing they do can condemn their soul since, well, they don't have one.
Ah, makes sense. I thought it was just either some existential universe remark or just an awesome one-liner that's doesn't make sense.
I don't want to get psychological here, but I believe all emotions come from the mind. Your mind is your soul. If there is no soul, there is no mind. No mind, no emotions.
Megatron's Spark- effectively, his soul, resided in his face. Galvatron, who has no Spark, has no reason to fear Optimus taking his face, and by extension, soul. /thread
Its just classic Badass Boasting. Bad guys like to go "I am death incarnate! I am the Destroyer of Worlds! I. AM. Yadda yadda." Bad guys like talking tough.
Clearly that wasn't a statement made to be taken literally. But you can argue that in a spiritual sense that your soul is your sense of being if you don't care about yourself then you don't care about dangers so you have no fear.
