oh yess.. i totally forgot about cyclonus.. he's not perfect but he's pretty damn close especially the two pack cyclonus/hot rod version. just beautiful. and you're also right about WFC megatron. now that is one fantastic figure. both modes are great, and while the transformation is rather simple, it's still interesting.

as for G2 prime.. i think the mold is very good, i too don't like the paint job. i REALLY wish the scourge repaint wasn't an exclusive. i hate when hasbro makes something almost everyone wants a limited exclusive release. it's a bummer.

also, i forgot about scourge.. cyclonus and scourge are awesome. it's a shame the galvatron that they're with isn't very good.

I will never, ever get tired of my Masterpiece figures. They're the only ones I consistently display whenever I'm at home on vacation from college (made the mistake of buying one while I was in school last year while I was in the dorms with a bunch of other engineering students like myself who constantly wanted to mess with it). However, because of their value I tend not to fiddle with them often, but when I do, it's always fun!

There are a few molds I keep around specifically because they're fun to just transform back and forth, and recently the Prime Wheeljack mold has stolen that spot very easily. That toy is well rounded between its good paint apps, accurate sculpt, posability, and inventive and fun way of making a new transformation for a design we easily thought would rehash older transformations. It's also great looking and solid in both modes. Runners up include RTS Cyclonus and Animated Voyager Optimus. Both nice molds that hit the perfect match of simplicity and intuitiveness, all the while looking good in the process.

I really like Universe/Classics 2.0 Cyclonus with Nightstick, Slick spaceplane mode with a fun and innovative transformation, it is just really, really fun to play with, for my runner ups, I pick Samurai Prowl and Oil Slick from Animated because I have a thing for bikeformers.

For G1, my favorite has been Powermaster Optimus Prime. It gave all the kids who missed the original Prime a second chance to collect their favorite hero. The cab had a more cartoon-style robot mode and a killer giant robot mode. Always loved that. And the painting on the back of the packaging showing PMOP in action never hurt either. I use that pic for my desktop background.

    Agreed same here.

For me it's also the ROTF movie Leader Optimus Prime mold. It's almost close to perfection. Almost. Time & again after storing it away, I will take it out & challenge myself do I still remember the steps? Lol

My favorite long-term figure is my MMC Hexatron. I've always wanted a Sixshot when I was young since I saw my classmate bring his G1 Sixshot to school, and having this modern version just fills the spot for the Sixshot that I always wanted, now that I am older and want things such as articulation and such.

RID Optimus Prime. Was my holy grail for a long time until I started making some money in order to create a collection, and voila, he was the first one put onto my display. The figure is a work of art, and you can feel it. The tough plastic, the quality, the touches, the paint, the engineering - all of it combine to make it feel as amazing as a Masterpiece figure, and should be regarded as such.

Gotta go with classics voyager Jetfire. I know there is a leader coming out, and the voyager has issues, but his aesthetic and various ways to display him, like with the helmet on or off, the backpack on or off, or the backpack transformed with the guns out, or his rifle combine or separate, he just has great play value. Add to that an enjoyable transformation and he's just a well rounded, solid figure.

Masterpiece prime MP-01, still impresses the hell out of me every time I pick it up.
Got to agree with classics bumblebee for the fiddle factor........its just so damn fun to transform and I have both sets of the art feather 3rd party fig (b-bee and g-bug), they fail to provide the same fun figure.

I admire the intricate engineering in most MPs but i find myselffiddling with ROTF leader optimus at lest once a month. He is truly the best representation on the movie prime and i love his details. This design has not been surpased in five years now. He is truly a masterpiece of the movie line. I also shamelessly adore the ice cream truck twins figure as i never excpected a toy of it and it delivered a wacky pink ice cream truck combiner with accurate tiny versions of skids and mudflap be it with little paint aps.

That has to be Armada Unicron. We waited so long for a proper Unicron figure and when we got him, he was amazing and still is. He's stable, fun to transform and has a great plastic quality. It also helps that there is some sort of story behind my Armada Unicron :)

Animated Activators Bulkhead. A lot of personality and impressive engineering in such a little figure.

Transformers Prime RID Vehicon. It's one of those Transformers you can just pick up and transform, or pose, or even just look at and not be disappointed by any aspect of it. I'd say the regular version over the Takara Air Vehicon version, although that remold is great too.

RID Air Attack Optimus Primal. I'm a huge fan of Optimus Primal and the whole Beast era and I loved Primal's design in Beast Machines, this toy is the ultimate realisation of that. Not only does it look pretty much spot on (minus the butt behind his head!) the play value is huge! Disc shooter, spring loaded arm, jet pack, and phrases from the show performed by Garry Chalk himself! It's one of the few Transformers I own that I can't help playing with like a big kid, swooping him through the air with a big smile on my face as the jet noises rise and fall.

Yep, all the Masterpieces... Although if I had to pick just one (with accessories ;) ) and take it to deserted island, I would choose MP Soundwave and his cassette minions. He's my 30 year old dream come true :)
