Seems like Paramount is having more trouble in China.

 

Oh boy here we go again hope they don't go back to Hong Kong after these lawsuits sounds like a bad place to live.

 

Aw shit, I've seen this one. It's the one where the Chinese officials go nuts.

 

This just in, China is suing Paramount because Hong Kong isn't in the film for long.
*Rolls eyes*

 

After all this I doubt the movies will return to China any time soon.

 

This should be a warning to all movie creators to not film in China or Hong Kong.

 

Hmm im wondering if this is another case like Borat where the movie helped out the local comunity but the goverment didnt get mutch. anyhoo smells political.

BREAKING: A small group of samurais have filed a lawsuit on Paramount Pictures because Drift was not an accurate representation of a samurai. This is due to him being able to transform into a car and helicopter. Paramount Pictures is reaching out to the group in hopes of settling the situation with some type of agreement rather than taking it all the way to the court system.

 

yeah they went ape shit nuts when the remake for "red dawn" was getting written and China was to be the belligerent nation that takes on the USA and after a potential trade boycott being threatened on a shit load of items and the such, the producers replaced china with North Korea...

which is funny as shit...as North Korea can't keep the lights on in it's own country yet alone run a potential invasion of the USA.

I'm no legal expert and of course we don't have all the details.....but how can they simultaneously demand to be reimbursed for the money they paid to be credited and to be credited in the DVD version at the same time?

Isn't that asking to be credited for free? Wouldn't they have to choose one or the other?

Edit: I guess it'd make more sense if it was a partial reimbursement, since they'd miss out on the theater-only crowd but reach the DVD crowd?

Well, the world has many, many worse problems and this reason for suing Paramount is childish.

 

Lawsuits like these are always a great encouragement for Hollywood filmmakers to go film in China.

It's annoying to see that a lot of movies companies these days are emphasizing the importance of product placement in their films. Greedy corporate officials get batshit crazy over things like these.

 

To be fair Japan is still angry with Bay over what he did with PEARL HARBOR. That's why he can't shoot there.

 

Russians say "East is a delicate matter" in such case! 

It's a bit stupid to rise noise due to few rock signs in my opinion anyway the scene was incredible great!  Chinese must appreciate it and of course maybe they are guilty too because they was delayed payment and create more difficulties for ILM!

In any case thanks to this scandal I finally know where I must go to visit this beautiful place! I will ride to China and cheer this angry people
