This score to me felt uninspired. It'd be understandable that four films into the series, Jablonsky has run out of new and creative music for the films. Even most of the themes people are praising (Lockdown's theme and the Dinobot Charge come to mind) feel much simpler and less layered than themes from previous films. Jablonsky set a high standard with these films, and he was much under par with AOE.

Thank you, good soul. But wasn't it Dinobot Charge? I can't remember the soundtracks in the movie itself.

Yes, I believe Dinobots Charge plays when Prime meets the Dinobots and continues all the way through to the Dinobots joining the fight in China. Decision sounds very similar to the beginning of Dinobot Charge.

I think Decision played (maybe not the whole thing but parts of it) in 2 places:
    (1) in the desert when Cade was showing the footage and it ended with Prime saying he decided that he will kill who ever's responsible, and
    (2) coming down to the end of the KSI raid when Joshua is saying that humans could make Transformers now and Prime tells the Autobots they are done here and leaves.

I could be wrong but those parts sounded a little more like Decision than the beginning of Dinobots Charge even though they are very similar.

Yes! Now you said it, I really think it's when Josh act like an a-hole with Prime and when Prime makes the decision to kill the responsible for the Autobots massacre (at least it fits). Thank you too, good spark.

    No problem.

If you are fortunate to watch it again soon you can listen out to see if that's really when it plays, or if it plays at all, and come back and let me know.

The faster part of Decision (from about 2:40 onward) isn't used. Well technically it is since it's part of Dinobots Charge as well, but it isn't used at the end of the KSI raid or in the desert scene that we've been discussing.

I really thought the score felt out of place in certain scenes. The soundtrack seems to follow the theme of having the most iconic part of the associated song integrated into the music, but because "Battle Cry" has a somewhat tribal? Theme, anytime a song played that included an excerpt from battle cry in a really domestic scene (Or basically any one shot not featuring the dinobots) it felt really out of place, and was noticeably weird.

I agree with many of you guys here; initially, I didn't dig the AOE score that much, but as I have listened to them more and more ... and watch a couple of YouTube vids (hehe), I have grown a lot of appreciation for this score. It's a very different feel this time.

My faves include: Dinobot Charge, Hunted, Tessa, Lockdown (or Your Creators Want You Back) and Leave Planet Earth Alone.

As of late, I'm really liking Transformium! That's the part in the lab where Joshua shows off the metal. The middle of the song sounds familiar though... maybe somewhere from another Transformers series or another movie? Maybe like at the very end of Beast Machines End Game when Cybertron is reformatted?

Yeah, it's a little repetitive, but I still love it! A couple tracks I really like that I feel are underrated are "Transformium" and "Hong Kong Chase." They're pretty catchy.

So... is it just me, or does 'Honor to the end' and 'Hunted' sound exactly the same?

I didn't find anything memorable about the soundtrack. Maybe I'll start remembering something if Universal plays a soundtrack from the movie at their park like they did with DOTM music since it made the battle of Chicago music run through my mind alot

Whilst the weakest of the series, I enjoyed Lockdown's theme for sounding pretty ominous. I like how the "Dun... Dun dun" starts out quietly and softly for that scene when Lockdown kneels down to talk to Prime, and then swings into overdrive once Lockdown has revealed the Creators' intentions.

Dinobot Charge is more subdued than previous battle themes, but it's still rather pretty to listen to. Autobots Reunited is a really epic theme to play as we meet the new 'Bots and, in a way, return to the Movie Autobots. The Legend Exists is amazing because of Arrival to Earth's return, this time with more kickass percussion.

I disliked Honor to the End for it's overuse of Battle Cry. "Just one more time before I go" is heard again and again and it's already gotten old by this point in the movie. I guess the battle was supposed to sound sad? Felt pretty weak against a kickass fight scene.

I don't get why people are saying that it is mediocre or underwhelming. IMO, AOE was a much smaller and personal/emotional movie than the first three. If you played scores from the first three to the final battle - it would sound off. Jablonsky was going for a much more toned down feeling to match the tone of the movie. That doesn't mean that it isn't an amazing score.

Thank you. It's like people expect it to be like the 3 previous movies, people can't seem to grasp the theme of AOE.

The only thing I don't like is the overuse of Battle cry.

Ah, yes. The "you don't like it, you obviously just don't get it" card.

Maybe because we've come to expect amazing scores on the level of the past trilogy, since Steve Jablonsky's scores are something even people who dislike the movies enjoy? I love Steve but AOE feels like a step down, not just in movie quality but in terms of how the score was. The only stand outs for me were the Reunited theme and Lockdown's theme. The rest of the score was pretty forgettable throughout the film, and only now that I listen to the music by itself can I actually appreciate some of it.

That said, with past scores, I've downloaded the entire score for each movie. This time around, just a handful.
