I prefer Drift, I loved it when he got in a small fight with Bee.

 

Who is better with swords? Well, a trained Samurai compared to a 'Bot who's just 'good' with swords is a tad unfair conceptually. On screen though, they're both good. I liked Sideswipe's moves on taking out Sideways and the grenade slicing mid air in DOTM was beast.
I liked how quick Drift was with his swords. He was quick to pull one out on Hound, he was quick to pull one on Bee's neck. I did like very much, his Samurai moves on the two Vehicons in Hong Kong.

With swords, I like both.

Who was the better Autobot? Well my Transformers fan side says they're both 'good' Autobots, they fight the bad guys. This is unfair as Drift had more character to go with. I loved how Drift is very loyal and passionate about who Optimus Prime is. During the Dinobot scene, "No, that is Optimus Prime", what a great line! Drift calling him Sensei was funny  

I prefer Drift.

My favorite has to be Sideswipe. Don't bitch to me about 'character'. Accept that I prefer Sideswipe. I prefer Sideswipe's design, colour and ROTF Corvette mode. I do love the Drift but the whole Samurai look is a bit 'in your face' especially his head, it should have been a drop down mask not an actual Samurai head. Drift's colours throw me off, I can't take to the shades of blue and the blue rims. The Bugatti is beast though, I'd rather buy a Corvette, I wouldn't say no to a Veyron though.

 

Sideswipe got some moves alright, but I felt more oomph factor from Drift.

Aside from sword skills, Sideswipe was just a gung-Ho macho dick type, whereas Drift was gracious, interesting, and funny.

"we should try to use violence only as a last resort.." "waahh I kill you! I kill you!!!"

 

Drift had more characterization, Sideswipe was just put in for a cool kill here and there, then he was gone. I don't remember any lines from Sideswipe aisde from " Damn I'm good" right after a kill.

It's kind of hard compare them due to how they were used in the movie.
I think Sideswipe was cooler, his design was different with the wheel feet and arm swords. AoE drift is just a stereotype robot samurai.

 

I prefer Sideswipe over Drift but Drift is one of my favorites.Sideswipe was more of a hotshot bot but also very skilled.Drift was cool aswell but I like Sideswipe better

Both of them are pretty damn experienced with swords. So, both win there.

A better Autobot and character would be Drift. Sideswipe was a cocky combat instructor, whereas Drift is loyal, passionate, honorable, and also an ex-Decepticon. Much more depth there. I loved how he called Optimus "Sensei". Added so much to his characterization and was overall something to differentiate him from the other 'Bots.

My favorite would have to be Sideswipe. He was just a general badass and I loved his design.

 

Drift brings swords to a gun fight and nothing else...Sideswipe eventually resorted to guns...Drift wins!

 

They both possess fine skills of swords. It could be a tie. However I like Sideswipe better.

 

Once again, not really a fair comparison since Drift had way more characterization than Swipe. I really do like Drift, but Swipe if far and away my favorite.

There's also a big difference between the two characters. Drift is a trained Samurai, with the mannerisms and looks of a Samurai. Whereas Swipe is a Front Liner, who is also an accomplished swordsman and combat instructor. Drift chooses to use his swords as his main weapons. Swipe uses blades, guns, grenades and any other type of weapon available to him because he's a Front Liner.

I don't think one is better then the other on any level. I do think they would compliment each other incredibly well, fighting side by side. Could you imagine a team made up of Swipe, Drift, Crosshairs, Dino, Topspin,Roadbuster and Bee?

I like the line-up, but Swipe isn't a Scout. He's a Front-Liner. If you're looking for a Scout and don't want Bee, then how about Cliffjumper or Smokescreen?

Maybe, but they were stressed out, cabin fever an'that!! Bee had a go back! it was just a funny little way to show how badly they'd coped without Prime!

Your line up is too big for the live action films. They won't get much character development... Heck, in the first 3 parter episode in g1 the characters were everywhere and it was a mess. The most I'd have is probably 9 Autobots with 5 Dinobots as muscle!

 

I dont remember Sideswipe being dickish to any Autobots.

True, but I wasn't going by Bayverse standards. I was going by what I would do, with money not being a problem. There are ways to incorporate so many Bots, while giving each character development. A lot can be said in one little scene, if done right. 

 

He wasn't, it was just his attitude, "damn I'm good" "clear a path!". I'm not saying I didn't enjoy Sideswipe, I'm just saying I wouldn't invite him around for tea!
