Naaaa, that's just bad writing and barely any character development :D

I'm just happy that there's still a doorway to bring Ratchet back (granted, it's a small doorway). I thought Ratchet's 'death' was overkill. Shocking but way over the top.

Wonderful summation. It's the obliviousness that we saw in TF1 and a little in DOTM that was so charming.

DOTM has been playing over and over on FX. After really watching the scene, it WAS Ratchet who shot and dislodged the main pillar. Bee just tackled it after Ratchet shot it. So really, Ratchet and NOT Bee was the hero in that scene.

Yep, quite clearly it WAS Ratchet.

1986 movie syndrome SUCKS. I want Ratchet to return.

You and me both. There is hope though, even if you need a microscope to see it. His preserved spark is still aboard the Knights Temenos.

There's also the chance Bay and Kruger will not return and someone new will take the reigns, triggering a reboot.

    Fuck sake
No reboots until this franchise finishes! We're on a damn cliffhanger at the moment. Believe it or not, people WANT to see what happens in TF5, I know I do. Keep your reboot for about 10 years.

On the flipside, there are those who want a reboot with no involvement from Bay or Kruger. Their wishes are as valid as those wanting to see a continuation from T4 to T5.

Personally speaking, I didn't care for AOE. I thought it was a train wreck that you couldn't look away from. I'd rater that train wreck not continue into T5. Again, that's just my personal opinion. :2c: :thumbs2:

Oh well. I loved it and want a TF5, I don't want a damn cliffhanger to a franchise I grew up with. It's not fair on us because g1 fans moan and bitch 24/7

It's not just G1 fans who disliked how the Transformers were portrayed in the films, though. I guarantee I'm a lot older than many of those on this board. While I did grow-up with G1, I actually prefer how the Transformers look in the movies and more current cartoons (TA and TFP). My problems with the films is that there's WAY too much focus on humans and not nearly enough on the Transformers. Even in AOE, while the Bots had a lot more lines, we really new nothing about them outside of a bit of their personality and roles within the team. In the previous films, if the Bots weren't named Optimus or Bee, they had very limited to zero lines and very little to no character development. Next to the never-ending explosions, there was little storyline to be found or it was a jumbled mess. Allow me to use the new TMNT movie to compare to AOE. Both had explosions and chase scenes, but in Turtles, they were balanced with a cohesive storyline. In AOE, there were explosions for explosions sake, chases that seemed kind of pointless and what storyline there was seemed very non-cohesive. The pacing of the Turtles film was steady, whereas the pacing in AOE seemed kind of bi-polar to me. The Turtles not only had lines, but they had genuine character development. While the Bots in AOE had more lines than the previous films, they had no real character development. After seeing the Turtles movie, I left that theater very pleasantly shocked. I went in not expecting it to be all that great, and walked out having thoroughly enjoyed it. To me, and for all the reasons I listed above, I think Turtles is actually a far better movie than AOE was, and that's coming from someone who's a fan of all the many Transformers Universes. I want that type of cohesiveness, development and storytelling in the Transformers movies. :)

If they all had the same feeling as the 2007 Movie I think there would be less 'bitchers'.

Without Ratchet's death we wouldn't have gotten one of the greatest scenes I have ever scene; the Autobots going "eff this, we're storming this place". It really brought out a different side to Optimus - thank Mr Kruger for that since he had full reign on the script and did a much better job than Orci/Kutz.

I like to think he'll be back since the film put some focus on the spark in the film; it's not only a power source it contains the memories too. I take this that Ratchet is still alive in some form, they can reformat him as Red Alert or something since Transformers seem to have trouble staying dead for the most part.

T1 was new and fresh. It was exciting because we had never seen anything like it before in the Transformers Universe. It did suffer some of the same problems that have plagued the other 3 films, though. Too much focus on humans, not enough on Transformers. Very little to no Bot character development outside of Prime and Bee. Granted, every film and cartoon will have it's problems, but these are issues that take away from the overall films and needed to be corrected 3 films ago.:)

How would you feel if G1 finished after the movie? Galvatron is still alive, Hot Rod just became a Prime, and you've just got new characters. You would want the series to carry on so you would know the new characters more, and see where Galvatron went and whats his next big plan!

Thats how I feel about "Bayformers", we've just got new characters, Optimus left earth, Galvatron is still alive, and we've just heard about the creators. I want to know what will happen in TF5 and what part they will all have. We'd also without a doubt get new Autobots in the team... With Bee and probably bump into Optimus.

Love that ending. Why does Bay have to kill the ones we care about!!! That alternative ending is brilliant if only that happened then the reviews may have been better. Also, is it me or did we see any medical attention Ratchet was with us apart from rotf when Jolt joins Optimus and Jetfire.

I do agree that if an autobot had to die it had to be him because he was one of the originals and his death was the most emotional thing I've seen in this franchise. It also showed that not even a defenseless bot can be spared. I thought Jazz's death was sad, but after watching this I'm heartbroken. In the cinema I knew he was going to die and I nearly cried before it even started.

But we never saw him working, that's what I wanted or in DOTM he should have been doing things with computers like in transformers prime.

I agree, that was the best scene in the whole movie, the emotion was everywhere.
