Even if he does hand it off to someone else, he'll most likely still have his name all over it, as well as it likely being just a continuation of the mess he already created.

I officially give up on the transformer movies...I'll be old and or dead by the time we have any hope of getting a respectable adaptation that we don't have to be ashamed of.

Exactly where I stood after the first of these insults to the franchise and fanbase. Nice to have some company.

If we can keep Jablonsky, Spielberg, ILM, the current voice cast... Pretty much everyone except Bay. Kruger, and whoever else plays a part in the non-creatve production of the movie, I'd be happy. The people at ILM and the rest put so much effort into making these robots, as do the rest with sets, explosions, the score, and everything. From a production point of view these movies are awesome. I just can't wrap my head around how they can make a movie as big as DOTM.

Give the credit where it's due. Sure the movies suck at the core level, but damn, they've for some talented people working on it.

I'll believe it only if it ever happens. Until then, this is just more BS from Bay.

lol@ "ashamed of." Why would you feel any shame at all for any adaptation? And if you were going to feel shame, why would it be for the movies that are enjoyed by millions of grown moviegoers around the globe? If shame even enters the equation at all, wouldn't it make more sense to be ashamed of liking the more legitimate iterations of Transformers which normal people would think you are a stunted-development man-child for liking? Or for being a grown person who buys toys for him/herself?

If you don't like the Bay movies, that is a perfectly legitimate viewpoint, but let's not be ridiculous by bringing shame into things this late in the game.

Now I would love to see his film on elephant poaching... bringing awareness on things like that gets major respect from me, especially from a household name

I hope Paramount doesn't try to bribe Bay into coming back. And why should he come back? He's already rich

I should point out that I actually was a fan of the first one. I was made to have to see that error after it all went down hill with ROTF.

As much as I've grown to hate these movies, I actually don't have much regard for the angry retro-file G1 fans either. Though I have to except that they'll always be the true voice of this and pretty much any fan base.

It's one thing when you have the average person who thinks scifi, cartoons and toys are for geeks, it's another when you are shamed by your fellow geek. The transformer films are seen as an offence by many people on all sides of pop culture, right next to Twilight and 90% of reality TV.

At ruining his career. I remember everyone liking him and his Dawn of the Dead remake, and then after that him and his films just started to become a joke.

At this point he's not much better then Bay.
Where Bay has explosions, Snyder has slomo.

Great cause, terrible choice of director; setting off explosions all across Africa, isn't going to make the elephants any safer..

Whoever helms the next movie or even if they reboot it has to take lessons from the new Dawn of the Apes movie. That movie had a perfect balance where they focused on the apes with the humans as secondary characters.

Thank fucking God. It can't be any worse than it is already. But he's already said he was done with TF before, I'll wait until I hear who'd been announced to take over before I really believe it.
