That's right! Just thought I'd remind you how long I've had to wait to see AOE, or "lost age" as it's called in Japan.

Sounds like it's almost as crappy as the first three, and I've waited so long my anticipation has somewhat lost it's steam, but I've already promised the boy I'll take him to see it now, and it's still another month until Guardians of the Galaxy comes out!

Anyone out there that's not a big fan of the first 3 that thought AOE was a massive improvement? (I'm sure there's threads about it, but obviously I can't go into any movie threads until I've seen the movie!

My opinion: it was a massive improvement.

Your opinion most likely will be based on how much you enjoy Michael Bay's cinematography and story telling ability.

Not sure if this is a spolier or not but the first half was great looked liked it was better but the second half ruined it but overall the movie was an improvement over Rotf and Dotm and same level as Tf1.

I know Inception, who did not like the first three movies, actually did like this one.

Even Galavatron II, who has not seemed to like any of the last three movies, thought AOE was an improvement. He might even call it mediocre. Which sounds bad, but is an improvement for what Galvy thought of the last three.

I, personally, did like it, but I liked the first three, so maybe I'm crazy.

So the 80 minute mark is probably a good time for a toilet break and a beer/cola refill at the kiosk! :)

It lays a great foundation for a new sequel, and saves the series, but it shows that we might need a different vision to make it work

Haha sure! For Galvy, "mediocre" is a positively glowing review! ;)

I thought it was better than the last two. But that said it's still not great.

The movie has some deep, underlying social themes as well, if you like that sort of stuff....

I liked the last three and liked this one too. Age of Extinction is my new favorite. Can't wait for TF5

On my first viewing I went to the bathroom right before the movie, held it the whole time, didn't drink my soda (until I got home). I didn't want to miss NOTHING :lol . Honestly there isn't really a good time to cut for break in the movie lol.

It's definitely worth giving a try for anyone who wasn't particularly keen on the last three (or particularly the last two) as the change of main human cast and new look for the robots does give it a slightly different feel. Plus the humour is less forced and over the top.

whether someone liked the first three or not, the 4th is most definitely an improvement.

personally, i enjoyed the first three.. but this fourth one was much better.

i find lockdown much more interesting than the previous villains. some of the plot was actually a little surprising to me. there were dinobots which is always awesome, and flat out, there was more robot to robot interaction, especially on the autobot side which was awesome.

and the ending is great, it's climactic, but it also has you looking forward to the next one.

just remember, it's not citizen kane, it's transformers.. and it's not a movie that is built off of years and years of brilliant comics. it's built off of a cheesy 1980's cartoon for children.

If you didn't like the previous three I doubt you'll like this one.

I think the movie improved on a couple things (robot characterization, amount of crude humor), but totally dropped the ball in other areas (even LONGER runtime with many unneccesary scenes, last part of the movie is idiotic and goes nowhere).

If you're going with your kid I'm sure he'll like it, probably, although depending on his age, it might be a very long sit.

Blows the first three away IMO. I liked 1&2 and was okay with the third.
