Just received my Takara Lockdown and I LOVE IT. The paint looks great in hand and best of all, the alt mode has no gaps that the hasbro version had between the doors and the hood. Perhaps its just a qc issue but i find it odd to find it in two hasbro versions i purchased
If I recall correctly - it was more on price point. Yeah, it does look good but the only gripe is that the bot's colours isn't movie accurate. I haven't opened mine at all so maybe you can post comparison pictures between the various versions - as there has been some requests.
Is toysrus the only place were I can find that kreo Lockdown??? My two local ones are pretty pathetic when it comes to having things in stock
I was honestly gonna pass on this figure but you sir, have officially sold me on it. Wow, all I need to do is hunt him (them) down and give him new arms.... thank you so much
So I only found the constructobots Lockdown, I gotta say, this little figure is FUN! I am very tempted to replace Deluxe Locdown (once I get him... IF I can find him) head with this one, I don't know why but This head has a LOT more personality than the deluxes (At least through pics)
What about current voyagers? Hound and Evasion Prime have deluxe sized vehicle modes, if they do Lockdown right then he'll be about the size of a Revenge of the Fallen deluxe.
If they do another Lockdown toy in either a Deluxe or Voyager they can probably take some inspiration from the TFA Deluxe Rodimus toy by the way he transforms and how he looks in both modes. I mean if you think about it both TFA Rodimus and AOE Lockdown do share some design traits in robot mode so that can work better then the DOTM roadbuster inspired transformation. Also the Deluxe Rodimus was fairly tall for a Deluxe at the time and his alt mode is someway the size of some current Deluxes so it could work.
Not sure if I got a "defect" figurine, but ... is there something like a spring mechanic build within his face cannon? Because ... the body of the cannon is completely empty and I'm not sure how the "shoot" function should work then
I recalled in optibotimus's video that he swiped the gun forwards to reload it. I'm not sure though. I was always under the assumption his missile was more of a friction missile rather than one with functioning springs.
It's just a friction missile, no spring. The lighter grey barrel can be pulled out a little from the darker part of the the gun. Then load the missile. Pushing the barrel back in fires the missiles (there's a couple tabs on the side you can use to push it in).
After seeing all the recent pics, I think when I get this guy, he's just going to be "generic Decepticon #6" or something. Maybe I'll come up with a name but ROTF Lockdown is such a better version of the character that I'll leave him as LD and call this guy something else. Definitely like the longer legs but cant bring myself to buy a constructbot to do that.
I don't know why HAsbro just doesn't look for a way to remold the HFTD Lockdown to look like the Lambo. To me making a new AOE Lockdown our of the HFTD Lockdown would impress the hell out of me.
That would be an an admirable effort but AOE Lockdown doesn't transform the same way as ROTF Lockdown not to mention they have two very different designs going on so I doubt even remolding will change the look of ROTF Lockdown into the AOE design. Although if they did some massive retooling on the TFA Rodimus mold somehow they can possible make it work.
I can't seem to find what thread has the "Kre-o Leg Fix" in it....(was it this one?) If someone could please link me to that mod I'd appreciate it. Thanks!

Initially I was totally going to pass on this... Seeing it in hand is a whole different animal. The car mode is worth the price of entry if you ask me. A con Lambo is sweet, and the alt mode pegs together like a BRICK, and plants all four wheels down to roll like its on bearings..NIIIICE.... Bot mode..sheeeiiiit...I don't give a wet fart..This looks NOTHING like the lockdown from the movie. Its a decent bot mode, but as for LOOKING like the guy in the movie? FAIL. I think the head sculpt looks down right BAD. from a foot away it looks like a grey faced bald old man whistling. NOTHING like the movie look. If your expecting this thing to look like Lockdown from the movie...drop your hopes now. Just call it something else, and hope Hasbro or a 3rd party does that job, because its not here. Its not a bad bot mode per say, all around its actually a cool bot..just nothing like the movie model. Sure you can say "the chest parts are where they are supposed to be.." or "the legs look like the movie.." STOP. There is nothing about this bot mode that even hints to me that its movie lockdown except the gun can haphazardly clip on its head, and there are small little missile tips on the hinges for the arm/rear of the car panels. The worst thing this toy has going for it..IS the head. When Hasbro releases (and im sure they will) a face shield head, this will look better. As it sits, Whistlin' Grandpa here makes a GOOD Decepticon... But a movie lockdown? It fails miserably. If one character deserves a voyager, just so bot mode looks right, its THIS GUY. don't break yourself trying to get this one..if you see it in a store and aren't expecting to like it, you may, like I did. But Im not thinking of it as lockdown. He just a Con to me.
