Bay uses the exact same technique all the time, regardless of whether it fits the scene or is well done at all. He is a shitty director. I don't even know who's responsible for the various Marvel films or w/e but as long as they are "ok" they're better than Bay by an order of magnitude.

There's no way to prove which one is better, that's pure opinion. The cold hard numbers clearly show Transformers are getting more viewing than the majority of the Marvel movies.

I can't dig Marvel, DC was always better even if DC does fewer films due to mismanagement with that aspect. When Disney bought Marvel, they went down a peg to me, so I can't even be bothered with them now. it's just how I look at them. I don't care about Avengers, Ironman, Guardians of the Galaxy, none of it.

All of their relevance in history to me is that Marvel Comics has some pre-Disney tie ins with TFs in the comic books and that's it. I appreciate the Bay films for what they are. If some of the Transformers fan community wants to ridicule the others for liking or going to the movies or wish their downfall, that's their opinion, but shame on them just the same.

    lol.
so, the thing i'm starting to see is people say both "it's such a great movie" and at the same time, "It doesn't have to have a good plot".
Look, I love "pootie tang", but I will be the first to admit it's a terrible movie. I guess it's hard for most people to admit something they like is shit.
The contortions you guys go through to defend the movie are hilarious though.

Also, the power of the transformers franchise sells itself irrespective of bay or not. All four could have been directed by John Waters and they still would have been box office smashes.
This will be proved by the predictable failure of TMNT.

What are you talking about?

Unless you have a time machine or Professor Farnsworth's What-If Machine, we'll never know.

I dunno. Movie looks pretty good if you ask me.

    Sorry for troubling you, Waffles.

But you're speaking English. I'm speaking English. I honestly just asked what you meant by what you said. There's no language barrier here. Just a question of what you meant.

I don't think it's a question of enjoy. Someone somewhere out there in the world might enjoy the live action Howard the Duck movie, someone can enjoy a microwave burrito, someone might enjoy driving their AMC Gremlin. And that's okay. But when you say Howard the Duck is a flawless film, they sell a lot of microwave burritos so everyone must love them, or the AMC Gremlin is equal in quality to the Lamborghini Diablo then you are doing some mental gymnastics to qualify why you enjoy something.

And that's what you see a lot of times with people who can't just enjoy the Transformers films but have to turn it into the greatest films ever and who don't find it enough that they enjoy it but anyone who finds disappointment in the films is a horrible trader to brand.

Lots of people here who enjoyed the films but can admit they are flawed, they could be better, and that the films don't give every fan what they wanted. But you have that handful of people where I enjoyed is never enough and flaws can never be admitted.

That's fair. I like to think I'm the kind of fan who can admit when the movies mess up.

At the same time, you have fans, and I use the word fans, not haters (Hate that word), who act as if the movies have absolutely nothing to offer, and I feel like that is just as wrong as saying the movies are perfect.

I couldn't ever really get into either camp because I could find things where the films felt like they dropped ball but I could also finds parts of the films that were as well executed as anyone could ask for. While there were ideas that I didn't like there were also ideas good enough that I wished they were expanded on more than the films did, like when the comic books ran with the idea of Starscream as the leader.

I guess that's why I have so much of problem wrapping my head around the two extremes.

I lean closer to the not really a fan of it crowd but I don't actively hate it as much as I did back around DOTM.

Funny, because I hear bad things about some Marvel films like Iron Man 2 and 3, Captain America, The Incredible Hulk and Thor. Not to mention the films under Marvel but made by Marvel studios.

Plenty of people enjoy these TF movies, me being one of them. I also like quite a few Marvel movies but really disliked the Avengers. I have a relative who was on the fence about the films and was bored of Optimus' tolerance for humans but absolutely loved him in this film for feeling real (characterisation but people still overlook this somehow).

    Ebay:
The big problem is way many more 'raped my childhood', 'worst movie EVAR' and 'Michael Bay should die a horrible death' posts than 'Transformers is the pinnacle of film making' and 'Bay is the savior of humanity' posts. It's impossible to take someone seriously when hyperbole and fanboy hatred cross streams.
