I got the KO masterpiece Prowl and Side swipe. The way Hasbro/Takara have been doing their QC, I figured it would be a gamble either way. Was very happy with both and probably going to order the KO Smokescreen.
Summit TRU (Birmingham) had nothing new. Plenty of YOTH SS (100$ ea), Generations Rhinox/Sandstorm, and AOE toys both OP and Grimlock, but no Galvatron. They had the Kreo book with Orion Pax but that's not new. They had the 13$ blind boxes called "Loyal Subjects". We took advantage of the BOGO offer to get four of the blind boxes, and fortunatly after opening the sealed boxes and foil, none were repeats! The only new thing I saw was an OP+"Grimlock" potato head figure for 15$. Pics below: Front. Back. Neither TRU has the SKU's for any of the MP figures that are out in the wild elsewhere. Will check Montgomery TRU tomorrow, but probably there will not be anything to write about. Prattville Target has put their TF Mash-ems on clearance at 90 cents each. Don't think anyone will be buying those rubberized weird things anytime soon. Additionally, the Target at Prattville and Montgomery had various Generations Sandstorm, Whirl, Rhinox, Doubledealer - but nothing new.
Sunstorm Thanks for the heads up! Grabbed one. The construction is so much tighter than the seekers I've had in the past. You can actually hold him by the shoulders and shake him and he doesn't extend or fall apart.
Mobile toys r us has 2 masterpiece Sunstorms. No sighn of Prowl yet - didn't see a tag on the shelf. Target across the street from there has 2 of those remote controled Bumblebees. Was looking for the Prime one but no luck yet.
Checked the Huntsville Toys R Us in search of some of the new Masterpiece Transformers. Shelf tag for Sunstorm is there, no Sunstorm and no signs of Prowl. Still a good bit of Year of the Horse Starscreams. Hope this isn't as bad as it was to find Soundwave.
Finally found Rattrap and Tankor last night at the Trussville Walmart, of all places. It's been empty Generations pegs there for about a month now. Anyway, bought both Rattraps (cousin bought the 2nd). I decided to hold off on Tankor, so he was still there as of 8:00 last night. Didn't see Crosscut. But at least they're starting to hit in our area now.
Went to Target on Schillingers tonight. They had 2 of the R/C Optimuses, I picked up one of em. Some notes for anyone interested in him: all most all the truck detail is stickers---the only red paint is around the windows. The sticker are the clear type so all the gaps and bubbles show. He steers like a tank. The first set of rear tires provide movement. Takes some getting used to. Can be controlled in bot mode. He says " I am Optimus Prime". Alot. Every time you hit at bump or lurch forward suddenly and stop. Also when he transforms. And it is Cullen on the voice chip at least. He transforms by two buttons on the controller, from bot mode to vehicle and back and you can stop it in between. The sound is the Junktastic movie one. Was hoping the would throw in the classic one every once in a while but nope. His eyes stay lit up in robot mode. And they did use a blue LED. All in all he's not a bad toy, but I think most folks could wait about getting him until a sale or clearance or something.
I think they said maybe something Crosshairs was delayed, can't believe what they say though we are at the mercy of retail distribution.
Montgomery TRU has some new mashups (meh), plenty of stomp and chomp Grimlock (meh) and now THREE MP Sunstorms and many many many YOTH screamers. Selling like hotcakes!
Walmart at Daphne has 1 tankor mixed in with the few carded generations figures they have. The whole transformer area is trashed out. They even managed to tear up the movie display cut out above the isle.
It's not robit-related but if anyone here does Marvel stuff there are two Avengers Infinite Wasps just sitting on the pegs at the Opelika Target.
Attalla WM has the 2 pack legends the Swoop, Stinger, Bumblebee to large for the product box, the repainted old Grimlock mold and prime, the old repainted triceratops mold, and the blue Terrosauur repaint too.
