I wish people would love TF movies the same way they do Marvel movies.

I saw GOTG and I loved it but I had to say I enjoyed TF4 more. I don't like kid movies and watching GOTG certainly felt like watching one. I know I'm in the minority. I wish I wasn't.

One day they might reboot TF movie and make it as kiddy friendly as GOTG. I know MOST people are going to like it and I know I'm not going to be one of them.

Now if you're talking about Cap2 or Apes 2 then I'd agree.

I agree TF4 was sort of dark like Cap 2 and Apes while Gotg was a fun kids film.

No Diaclone, Microchange, Macross, etc. THOSE were simply transforming toys in Japan. Transformers pooled all those toys into a single line but the only way Hasbro figured it would work was with a story to hold it all together as it's own thing. Story was never an afterthought they got Bob Budiansky to make characters out of what in japan were originally mechs make the backstory of a war and introduce it to kids as a comic book and eventually cartoon.

Yes the toys were always their own thing but 'Transformers' that started with a Marvel writer and a series of Marvel comics. Dude you do YOUR research before you post your false info.

I don´t think they were an exception. The most "vulgar" were Prime the truck, BB the VW, Brawl the Land Rover, Ratchet and Ironhide, the vans and Huffer a orange truck. The rest were indeed uncommon/cool vehicles. Three Lambos, 1 Sheridan tank, one custom Porshe, a spaceshuttle/dragon hybrid, one Lancia rally car, three Nissan sports cars (one of them was a cop car, Prowl was a Fairlady Z and not a Crown Victoria), etc etc. Some of those were also the biggest toys, and for a reason.

Actually, I prefer the Crown Victoria to the Z car too.

Even if he wasn´t originally a warrior, the circumstances of a 4 million year long war have probably made him into one.

Yeah, I found that kinda lame, a bodyguard that doesn´t care a gun. It might be in the original bio and all, doesn´t mean that I don´t have to like it or find it silly.

So? That´s the Unimog truck to a T. A strong, reliable workhouse that does everything, who refuses to give up working. It´s pretty much the same thing that the Vanette, only much more interesting and better looking. But at this point I think we´re discussing personal preferences.

    P

I'm talking about from the original 30.

Seem that's the paradox- He's referred to, in fiction, as a Crown Victoria. So I guess in G1, that's just what Crown Vics look like.

Well, MOST Autobots double as infantry. But Ironhide's main function was as a security officer. He was a vanguard for people and things of import, moreso than a proper soldier. That's why he's "Iron[/I]hide" after all. He has Trythillium "skin" so that he can take all the damage for those he's protecting.

Have you read the bio? Yeah, the thing squirts liquid nitrogen and all assortments of acids and rusts, but it also shoots bursts of molten led up to a thousand feet, meaning that aerodynamic forces would pressurize their tips into a spear shape.

    He shoots lava bullets.

    I'm not particularly attached to the Vanette, but I prefer the Autobots to (mostly) remain inconspicuous civillian vehicles. You know, if the characters themselves aren't flashy. For instance, I think this vehicle might be better for Ironhide;

    And this for Bumblebee;

By the way that's an "Eco friendly" car. Bumblebee is the most fuel efficient Autobot. Just saying.

My point is that "Not super badass super cars!" doesn't have to mean "Ugly" or "Military/Utility".

I´m sorry, but that is one awful design. Nope, I´m sorry, I can´t find anything to like on that thing. I´ll have my Unimog, it´s not a flashy vehicle (and it´s less flashy than that too), but it certainly looks better than that. It´s actually a much more common vehicle in here, so, it´s also a better disguise.

Make it the Abbarth version and then we will talk.

My point, I prefer "military/utility" to both of those, be it common vehicles or flashy sports cars. There´s a reason why the Combaticons are one of my favorite groups. I want more Bots like them, TBH.

meh let's see how well received guardians of the galaxy 4 is.

as far as comic book movies; DC has made the best three (nolan trilogy)

some of the marvel films are good (X-Men 1, X-Men 2, Blade 2)
some are horrendous (the overrated iron man trilogy, the terrible amazing spider-man)

to say they are somehow above tf is whatever..they're almost in the same genre and ain't nothin' special in my book...quite formulaic actually.

i do, however, love & appreciate how marvel basically created a live-action comic-verse though..very cool..love how all the films are connected....had everything broke right..transformers would have been the 1st to do that as well with the proposed Transformers 2/GI Joe merger

no marvel film can touch TF1 in my book..the closest is probably X2...to each their own but the 1 thing i love about the TF films is that anyone can die at anytime in any fashion..unlike say marvel films where we know nothing bad will ever happen to thor, or hulk, or cap, etc.

i also love how dark TF3 & 4 were as well...i think the trend will only continue throughout the series.

something else to consider: all the tf films have a massive cast of characters..the only marvel franchise that can compare is x-men

I think Marvel does better in the slow bits. Since no film is action from opening frame to closing credits you have a lot of film time when things don't get punched or things don't go boom. Marvel feels like it's building up the characters and the story between the action while Transformers it feels like filler until they can blow something else up.

Marvel can build up a character like Falcon before he's thrown into the thick of the action but new Autobots just sort of feel thrown in out of almost nowhere and sometimes out of nowhere like Jolt. Plus who would have ever thought that Groot would have more lines than some Transformers.

Marvel also does a better job of making old fans feel special with all the little things they throw in that old fans will get but new fans will not catch. With Transformers I'm not sure if they even want the old fans to go see these films. Pick apart frames or background music in a Marvel film and you find all sorts of special things for the people who watched the cartoons and read the comic books. With Transformers it's just a clunky throwing in of old lines that don't fit.

meh i feel you are too lenient on marvel and too harsh on transformers & can easily offer valid counterpoints.

what even is so good about marvel films anyway other then, like tf; seeing the characters onscreen...the avengers? much like the original spider-man (2002), once the wow factor wears off you are left with an average film, or in this case, a transformers 3 clone..which..isn't a good thing.

TF started as an 80's toy series made into a show.
Also, what's so appealing about Marvel films? I mean besides Fox movies(X Men), early Spiderman films, and the Captain America series, I don't see what's so good about Marvel films. I love their comics, but their films are overrated.

    This.

    Just, this so much.

You can't blame it on Bay hate. Even if it is just Bay haters, it shows what kind of reputation Bay has built for himself, in which case, I think the movie still deserves a low rating. Bay's had his chance, and I don't blame people who are through giving him one.

o come off it...rotten tomatoes is a joke of a site..and it's quite pathetic that kids today look at it as some gleaming truth of the end all be all of films.

That's not true, at all. It sometimes is. Nothing wrong with censoring something if it is offensive or inappropriate.

There was a Simpsons episode about it. Anyone remember? About the statue with the chick that's naked and how the moms of Springfield wanted it censored.
