I've given up on Bay ever making the Transformers movie I'll be glad to see. Just make the money so I can keep getting better Generations toys.

Hopefully, one day we will actually a get good Transformers movie. It never hurts to have hope. This 3 year deal is like a kick to the balls, though. I like to tell myself the night is darkest just before the dawn, but the night has been at its darkest 3 times already. If the dawn is coming, you can bet it's taking its sweet ass time.

IDW would also lose their licence which would make a lot of people mad. And if you think a good Transformers movie would stop the massive bitching, I've got a space bridge to sell you.

You know there was a time when I feared Disney taking over too much of the entertainment business. But after seeing how Disney is willing to take chances and how Disney has gotten back on the track of film making being an art form not just a cynical way to make a quick buck I now gladly welcome our Disney overlords.

Paramount on the other hand, it's like it's a studio with no idea how to do anything but disappoint me time and time again. They don't seem to know what I like about GI Joe, they don't seem to know what I like about Star Trek, they don't get what I like about Transformers. It's to the point where I have nothing but lowest expectations out of Paramount.

Disney keeps finding new ways to make me love stuff while Paramount just seems to keep doing the same old tired things to make me question why I was ever a fan of something in the first place.

It's almost like Disney has been listening to people and they have been trying to make more people happy while Paramount can't be bothered to find out why they aren't making as many people happy as they could be.

Because it's a news story about Paramount extending Bay's contract, and I would like a new director and writer... not liking the current team does not mean I can't hope for better movies in the future. And with news like this I think expressing frustration is normal? This is a discussion board after all.
    Oh, and "lol" :rolleyes2

Quality does not equal money. What the serious fuck? Money equals success (marketing/entertainment value). Quality is determined by what critics with the understanding of that media think as well as honestly how many (positive) awards it receives... that makes something good quality. Making a lot of money only means it's entertaining and successful... in comparison, are popular TV shows that get high ratings like The Bachelor high quality programming? Fuck no.

We'd get watered-down, safe, family-friendly Transformers movies. Let's finish off these Bayformers before we get to the meh stuff that everyone will love because Bay is no longer working on it.

these films will never make more money than a good and true transformers movie.
    never.

a good movie about transformers with their characters, story, plot, mythology, elements, technology, character development and other things that the universe can offer,
can make more money and attract more people to the franchise than previous films made or any other movie franchises.
transformers that interact between them, use their abilities in robot form or any other form, piloting vehicles and other things they can do.
this is not something hard to do.
with a good director, writer and editors.
with good development, production and post production.
good marketing with all your characters Tf posters, trailers, TV spots, clips and other types of advertisements, transformers may be more than you can imagine.
    is more than logical.
    with or without michael bay.

"I am Galvatron and I have no fear but I'll still run away from the Autobots and Dinobots and I'll meet Prime again cause I'm back for something!" *dramatic music in the background*

Well said. Except when Disney went down the dark path of trying to pump movies out of Pixar too fast and we got Cars 2 and Planes.

When Bee shot rockets at Galvatron, they should've played the song "Can't touch this"

Yawn. No matter who makes the movie, not mater who writes, edit, scores etc someone will always complain. People bitched about animated.people bitched abou the Unicron trilogy, people bitch about prime. There are people who bitch about G1 and the movies are no different. Bay or no bay there will be people who complain because unfortunatly that's the fanbase we are. Would I like to see a new director. I don't really care who direct these movies. If I can sit through shutter island without executing myself, I can take pretty much anything bay throws at me. Hell I can't even finish ironman 3, but I can actually enjoy revenge of the fallen(boy I got problems don't I). Hasbro/paramount is not going to change what works. You guys want someone new, then don't watch these movies. Then they won't make as much money. Then they might grant your wish. Then you might get someone new and some of you will bitch anyway. Ill get my popcorn and tickets ready for tf5. I have fun with these movies so more fun for me I guess.

Taking chances means that sometimes you are going to have failures. So there are times when Disney makes mistakes and they take a beating at the box office for those mistakes. But it still beats playing it too safe like Paramount.

Sure you get the occasional film like The Lone Ranger out of Disney so taking risks doesn't pay off for anyone sometimes. But taking risks also means you can get an action romp like Guardians of the Galaxy instead of following the Hollywood trend of all hero films have to be like the Dark Knight in some way. Paramount films like GI Joe and Star Trek feel too much like drifting on whatever the current trend is in Hollywood rather than taking a chance. It's like Paramount is so terrified of any box office failure that they stay too bland and too formula.

If you had said that a decade ago, I and many other people would have called you crazy. But since Disney owns Marvel, they've been hands-off on the Marvel Cinematic Universe so far. That and Disney's actually been doing pretty well lately as far as movies go, so I wouldn't mind if Disney bought Hasbro.

And I'd pay all my money to see that over dogs humping each other, Devastator's wrecking-ball testicles, racial caricatures, terrible acting, crappy writing, and pretty much everything else wrong with the Bay films any day of the week.

Just as long as Galvatron's voiced by Jeremy Irons, I'll be happy. :lol
