Here's one theory (of MANY I'm sure are out there) could HE/SHE be the reason HTS has a delay in posting these up, I mean your every day average scalper may snag 3 may be 5 items of each IF he had the right resources & contacts...but to have that many then it may have HTS doing an internal investigation on inventory discrepancy (if that's the case) if it is a Hasbro employee or convention volunteer that has access to these "falling off the back of the truck" before they get sent back to the warehouse OR if it is just 2 guys doing the inventory without any supervision, what's stopping them from wetting their beaks before they call HTS or Hasblow HQ & say "so funny story, we had 100 MTG sets left from the show, but these cholo gangsters jumped us & stole a few but we managed to save a few sets for our loyal & patient customers at TFW2005" ...I mean come oon!...at this point it really does not take that long to consolidate an inventory & log it into an ERP software...if theres something I know, its logistics, ccommunication being a major part of the supply chain, especially to your customrsr...a simple memo"sdcc exclusives will not be available until the week of ____ or even a specific day, they don't even have to say the time, but for F's sake HTS & Hasblow, help us be more efficient with our time so we don't waste it...logistically sea monkeys could be doing a better job at this point...but what do i know, for all we know it could be Octo-mom & her 14 kids just trying to make a living.

that does happen with big companies actually. there was... a unique gentleman who was selling some geforce titans before the official release, and many times some people sell games before street date then get in trouble.

Just woke up and I had a dream that I woke up in the middle of the night and saw that the exclusives went live. I was kind of groggy and trying to add everything I wanted to my cart. The MTG set sold out before I could get it in my cart. I got everything else. There was this massive graphic redesign of HTS going on in the middle of this. And right about when I checked out, the item listings page changed radically. The white background was gone and there were fancy and flashy graphics everywhere. But there was a screwup somewhere, and the entire layout of the site was blown up gigantically, so on your computer screen you could only see about 20% of the page. So to navigate the sale page to pick items, you had to scroll a lot from side to side and up and down. And there were huge graphics for each item so it was difficult to scroll and find where the add to cart button was. For some reason when I clicked on an individual item, the individual item pages had not changed much, still fit on the screen and had white backgrounds but just had some different colored banners and menus around them. I was thinking that this must be why they delayed the sale of the items, they wanted to get a redesign of the site finished before they went live.

So we have two systems of distribution being described:
    1) Let the person willing to spend the most money own the toy. (scalping)
    2) Let the person willing to spend the most time refreshing their browser own the toy. (not scalping.)

That is such a BS defense. If someone's going to the event anyway and getting the exclusives for themselves anyway, using scalped figures to 'make up for the inconvenience' is nothing more than a weak excuse to try to justify being a low-end scalper. It's akin to overcharging for Evac from Universal Studios to cover costs when the person's there anyway for a vacation or whatnot. Seriously.

Agreed. Just because I don't have the means to fly to a city in another country that's across the continent, doesn't mean that I should have to pay more for an exclusive all because you felt like you were owed something.

    Observers log, Day 6

The primates I have been observing have gone from slight agitation to grave anger. With the long expected arrival of their wanted goods postponed they have become desperate. They express themselves by creating drawings showcasing their anger and seek out any target they can find. A scalper wandered into their midst that they attacked him with angry words. They loathe their god, this 'Has Bro' and wish for its death. If it were not for past experience that has taught me they will switch in an instant and proclaim their love for Has Bro then I would wonder if they were preparing to abandon their beliefs, perhaps worshiping the dark god from the Bay of E. Some already have.

They are strange creatures... these Fans in the Mists.

Very well done. Laughter cures all...Unless it is the cackling laughter of madness that is brought about by the wait for HTS.

to some people its time vs money... i get both arguments and have been at the end of both sticks.. honestly how many of us here are waiting for the MTG set to actually own...

i know i dont care for it but if i can offset the cost of my dino set then sure why not.. weak excuse yes but hey supply/demand...if gas was selling for what its price is instead of what the market sets. murrica would be still be driving giant ass hummers and ford excursions that get 6mpg...

    Supply always drives demand..

anyone here look for a house lately??? tell me that you wouldn't accept an offer 10 percent higher than your asking...... btw that 10 percent over on a house can be as much as 40,000 to put that in perspective

personally i paid a friend a few bucks over retail for their time.. as i know its 12 plus hours just to get these things at the convention.. i greatly appreciate him for it...

The waiting and constant glancing at the computer sucks, but personally, it is the only option i have to get the mtg axe/planeswalker set. The markup on ebay is at least 250 higher or more. Cant afford that. Also, this will be my first every exclusive owned set. I typically find out about these things weeks to months after the fact. So, here's to hoping i catch it in time.

Amen to this. I will freely admit that I will scalp the shit out of that stupid MTG set. Whats more I will have earned every red cent of that profit too as I spent virtually every waking moment from 8am - 8pm Monday through Thursday (and a large portion of Friday) staring at that exclusives page and waiting for it to change and literally nothing else. As they say, "time is money" so that should count for something. I get that it is my choice to watch that page but I wasn't expecting it to be an all week process, nor should it have been. However, since I don't want to pay a premium for what I want I will do the work, but I will make a little on the side if I can as well. My intent is to get the Dinobot & Kreo set to own but if I have the chance to grab those stupid cards and flip them, you're god damn right I will. I won't feel bad about it in the slightest.

Now subtract upfront cost of the items, eBay fees, PayPal fees and shipping. They're not making all that much considering the effort they're gonna go through to get all those shipped out.

Factor in fees, shipping, cost of product, and other associated costs and you will find that he made nowhere near $10,275. eBay alone took $1027.50 in fees. The Dinobots cost $3040. The MtG sets cost $1776. Paypal took a chunk. Packing materials and shipping took a chunk. The seller didn't even make half of that $10,275.
