We all know (or should know) that the coming of the new console generation will eventually cause the previous console generations online support (XBox Live for 360, and PlayStation Network for PS3) to be disbanded. However, that scenario leaves the two greatest TF games of all time, Transformers: War for Cybertron & Transformers: Fall of Cybertron, left rendered as merely single player games. I believe a good way to get High Moon back on their feet is by re-releasing these two games for the next console generation (maybe 360 & PS3 too), but also adding local area co-op, that way when PS4 and XBox One's online service is terminated for the next console gen, these great games can still live on through multiplayer with friends.

I believe it is important that these two games be preserved because they explain the origins of Transformers on Cybertron, something that has only been touched lightly in most TF lore. Although WFC and FOC have been catered towards being apart of the Aligned Continuity, Matt Tieger has said something along the lines of how, "These games could serve as precursor to any Transformers Continuity".

Most of WFC & FOC's appeal came from mutliplayer experiences. How does it feel knowing that inevitably, you may no longer be able to play Escalation in WFC; as an example. Therefore, I believe it is critical to re-issue WFC and FOC with local multiplayer, so you can still play Escalation and PVP Multiplayer after online support has been canceled. High Moon put a lot of time into creating TF customization for FOC, plus we bought those add-ons totaling $30. All of that could mean nothing as we cannot access multiplayer without online support, but if we had local multiplayer, the game could still live on at homes.

In re-issuing these games I feel that High Moon should cater to a few tweaks that I know all fans would agree on. First and foremost, I believe that High Moon should pinpoint and fix and bugs in WFC and FOC, or at least some. You already know how I feel about the IMPORTANCE OF LOCAL MULTIPLAYER. I also feel that WFC should have host migration. However, I'm curious as to what other small fixes you, other TF gaming fans, could report.

We all know that Activision and Hasbro both would favor as easy cash grab game, being as how they released Rise of the Dark Spark. I believe this would be an easy call for them to publish and endorse because the games would require little work to fix and re-release. I feel that Activision should sell WFC & FOC combo pack for $60, being as how both games have aged and saw decreasing value, I believe it is more than fair to Activision and Hasbro to sell both WFC & FOC for $60. This would be an easy sell for hardcore Transformers fans. They wouldn't have to produce a lot, like any other HD Collection game, and I know that most of us would buy it for two major reasons, to get High Moon back on their feet, and preserve the experiences of these games with local multiplayer.

I'm not sure how they should handle the situation with add ons; I personally believe they should just be integrated in the disc. For those of you that don't know, add-ons are sold at ludicrous prices to help the developers pay to keep their servers online. If it was free to keep a game's online infrastructure, I don't think High Moon would have charged $10 to give us four or five extra characters for mutliplayer.

I am going to mail this idea in a letter to High Moon themselves. I believe this is that good of an idea for the fans, for High Moon, and to satisfy Activision and Hasbro. I would also like to send a petition with a list of names of Transformer fans who would buy such a re-issued game to support TF gaming and High Moon Studios. This would show High Moon & Activision that this isn't just one gamer that can't move on, it's many gamers that share the same belief. I would also include in the letter a link to this thread to show them this is for real. I plan to have mailed the letter Saturday, August 30th

I would ask of all of you to give me as much feedback as you can on this subject. If the lot of you disagree, I will not mail a letter, seeing as how it's not important to enough gamers to matter; however, I feel that this idea will touch the heart of TF gamers. So who's with me? I, MetruMaximus, will be the first name (I feel we should use TFW2005 usernames for privacy's sake) on that list. Let me know if you want yours to be included too.

Thank you for reading this long post,

    Till All Are One

    Good idea. +1

But I think that your letter might get ignored with a 50% percent probability.
Really I don't think they ever listened to opinions of fans.
They do what they want. I never noticed a game company that listened to fan ideas. (Except Valve)

    Correct me if I'm wrong.

High Moon is at the mercy of their publisher, Activision. The **ONLY** way you're going to prove to Activision that such a move is viable is if somehow WfC and FoC sell like hotcakes like...now. It's gotta move numbers close to Call of Duty for Activision to consider such a move.

It can't be stressed enough that when dealing with a big publisher, unless something miraculous happens, the **ONLY** thing they care about are sales numbers. If a game doesn't have the sales numbers, a AAA publisher just isn't going to give a damn. They don't care about the fans or what the fans want...they only want their money, and they stop caring when that cash flow is low or gone.

As much as I hope that HMS returns for another game of a reissue like you suggested, I feel that our best chance is to convince Activision in a way to finance the future projects regarding the Transformers brand.

The idea of WfC and FoC on the PS4/XBONE is in my opinion something that is somehow possible. They would have to do some fixes for both games and better textures. If they can't make a final game in the "...... for/of Cybertron" series, they should give us this last and definitive goodbye. I know HMS would want it, the problem is Activision.

Please put my name on the list and I wouldn't mind paying more than $60 just for the fixes or collectors package IF this would happen. I would even buy a PS4 just for this. After all I bought a PS3 for FoC :)

While I think this is a good idea it's not likely to happen.
And, as much as I hate it, FoC just can't have co-op the way WfC did.

In FoC the characters have specific abilities that enable them to traverse the levels in different ways. For instance, Bumblebee just couldn't zip through Jazz's level because he lacks the grappling hook. So the only way they could do that is to make whatever character partnered with Jazz also gain his ability.

The same thing can be said for most levels.

But, seeing as WfC and FoC used to appear on my friends list often and for months and RotDS shows up every so often, I am pretty sure that RotDS isn't selling well.

Hopefully that will convince Activision to put the franchise back with High Moon where it belongs.

Unfortunately, I think the more likely outcome of Dark Spark bombing would be the opposite of that: it would make Activision not want to do TF games again.

And the High Moon TF games didn't sell that well anyway, so...

Then hopefully someone else picks up the license and handles it with care.

Don't really care. Wfc was fun but fall was just a 3rd person shooter with tf skins slapped on. Mp was way to easy, escalation was god awful IMO, and campaign was only fun the first three times I played it. I'm not saying I hate fall its just I've already played loads of games this already. It don't have as much replay value as wfc. I liked rotf more because I felt more like a transformer. They were characters and not just skins. They had unique transformations and different wepons and abilities. Even characters who were similar like BB and jazz were different. All that game needed was more support. Mainly for campaign. I don't hate high moon but I wouldn't care if they end up closing because I only really have fun with one of their games(WFC). Foc was mediocre and I hate dotm.

I would like to clarify, I meant local multiplayer for Escalation and Multtplayer in FOC. High Moon couldn't just tear apart FOC because it was catered towards one player.

On a side note, I understand some of you may be skeptical about High Moon & Activision doing such a thing, but are you still willing to have your TFW2005 username to be put on petition? I know High Moon will at least look at it, whether or not they do anything, and I hope it boosts their spirit to convince Activision to allow them to make a Transformers game.

I would also appreciate for all people who comment to clarify whether or not they want their name on it. I know we're all a little skeptic, but the more usernames, the better it looks.

I think that if High Moon maybe gets Hasbro involved in the fray, Hasbro would likely side with High Moon, allowing them to create better footing in stance against Activision subjugation of them. Allow me to explain... Hasbro is a larger company than Activision. Hasbro allows Activision to publish games with TF's in them. I believe Hasbro would have larger say than Activision in regards to the content on a TF game. Hasbro also wants to make money easy like Activision, but a FOC & WFC re-issue would be less work than ROTDS was. So I feel that this is worth bringing to the table.

I would also like to stress again the importance of saying YES or NO to allowing me to use your username on the petition. So far I have three names including myself.

Sorry dude, you have good intentions, but a petition won't do jack.

I agree with this in a sense. I prefer action games over shooters any day of the week. In fact, WFC, DOTM, FOC, & ROTDS are the only shooters I own because I can't stand the stagnant sense of repetitive gameplay. What makes TF shooters rich is the TF lore with them.

TF ROTF is an action game. Also there is a major aspect of the game revolved around shooting, you have to also rely on melee, transformations and tactics with your characters. Which makes it action based. I prefer action games, however the types of games that sell the best are shooters. Think of Halo, Call of Duty, Killzone, all shooters.

I believe High Moon's TF shooters are an easy way of making a TF game that is enjoyable and easily appealing to other audiences. Not everybody enjoys action games, mostly because they prefer the standard run and gun style of games, and don't like strategizing. Although, some strategy exists in the TF mutliplayer because of the classes system. A shooter will sell better because they are easier and also still fun.

In my opinion, I feel ROTF gameplay, with High Moon's story, customization, etc. would be the ultimate TF game. Considoring Luxoflux made you actually feel like a Transformer, but High Moon actually put you in the heart of their war. They are the two halves that would make the greatest TF game ever. However, that is a different story, and I think only the work of Primus could bring forth such a game.

Although it would be nice to have the Cybertron games remastered for next gen i doubt it will happen. The games although good just wouldn't be worth it for Activision. The only way I see the games coming to next gen is on the streaming service Playstation Now (I'm not sure if the Xbox one will have a similar service).

But if they did remaster them hopefully they could come in a bundle with the third Cybertron game(if there is one)
