I like both too.  

 

They are different. Although they're both big and love big guns! Hound is simpler and similar to my farther - with wit, good humor and with paunch  Ironhide is more serious and seems deeper and wiser. Remember his phrase in Griffith Observatory scene.

 

I like both but Ironhide is just, well, he's just special  

 

Hound is love. Hound is life.

Seriously, I sort of understand the love for Ironhide and Sideswipe, because they are broadly drawn archetypes with no real depth, they're colorful. They have distinct personalities, which sets them apart from everyone else, even if they are sort of one-note cliches.

But Hound is just an awesome character. And while he may not really be better than Ironhide and Sideswipe per se, he's certainly a lot more fun, mainly because the movie he's in gives him the room to make himself memorable.

And it helps that John Goodman is literally playing his exact character from The Big Lebowski as a giant robot. Seriously, inspired casting, whoever decided to get him deserves a medal.

 

Deja vu.

But Hound, no contest.

 

Both awesome. But Ironhide.

Hound seems more like a gun nut uncle with all sorts of familiar guns, while Ironhide seems like an actual wiser specialist with his custom cannons.

 

Ironhide is the old salty vet who's seen a bunch of it ( Kinda of like Kup)

Hound is the younger, balls to walls commando type - a high speed / low drag kind of troop.

 

Hound had more personality in one film than Ironhide had in all three.

He also had more gun.

 

I don't know. They're both the best Autobots in the entire movie continuity.

 

I love both. But Hound was ultimately funnier.

"I'm like a fat ballerina!" "My fatass is stuck!" "OH! I'M HIT!"

 

If it is just in the movies, I got to say Hound. He is by far the third most likeable bot and actually has a personality

I am not generally a fan of Transformers with "facial hair," but that aside, I vote for Hound. He had a personality. As Shatterpoint said, he had more personality in one film than Ironhide had in three.

 

Honestly? Hound was just more fun from the get-go. "I gotta kill you now. Y'r'too ugly." Things like that. He was awesome. Ironhide was awesome too and had some badass one-liners (Class Dismissed.) but then he had some weeeeeird lines like 'I smell him' and things like that.

 

Hound....no argument here

 

Ironhide. As much as I loved Hound, I just kind of like Ironhide better. I think it's because he seems more like an Autobot to me. Hound's savagery turned me off of him a little. His line about being "Itchin' to kill somethin" and bloodlust seemed a little out of place. Ironhide came across to me as crankier, but genuinely good hearted despite his hair trigger temper. He'd never point a gun at a fellow autobot like Hound did to Crosshairs. Ironhide still gave the dreads a chance to surrender, and only killed them when they attacked. When Prime executed Demolishor, he stood by his old friend, but looked away when Prime pulled the trigger.

Ironhide just seems like more of a true blue Autobot.

 

Dammit! I say BOTH!

And in ROTF when Ratchet wanted to leave earth, Ironhide said "No, that's not what Optimus would want." We could've all been dead already.

 

i love hound, i love the "cigar", the beard, all of his weapons, his other various accessories.. but i have to go with ironhide. i just love ironhides look. his chest is awesome looking, the cannons are really cool.. his alt mode is a little cooler than hounds.
