To me it says he's a road scholar. "I've been everywhere, man." Is it over analyzation? Because I think it's pretty clear that these movies want you to think they're cool. Turning a traditionally humble character into a big flashy (and now customized to be EVEN MORE BADASS) truck with a flame paint job seems like a pretty clear extension of that. Same reason they turned an adorable little VW Beetle into the premier tacky douche mobile (and why faces are taken). Seems like a pretty logical mental connection to make. But yes, it was TOTALLY done for purely practical and completely necessary aesthetic reasons. You're comparing the ways in which already existing toys were adapted for a new market and perscribed personalities by one guy who had to develop 30 distinct personalities to fit into a setting and basic world already largely crafted by one other guy, to it's blockbuster movie adaption with quasi-limitless resources and creative possibilities, making a concious descision about a character's look that just doesn't make sense. "It's a real thing and thusly no use of it can be inappropriate."
He looks like Prime to me flames or not, personally I'd rather have the flames than some boring ass all red color, and yeah, Bee as a Camaro works 100x better than Bee as a VW, glad they didn't go with that horrible choice.
these people that have been bitching that Prime has flames on him are morons. God damn it! Just be glad he is a red and blue truck.
It is amazing that 7 years later some people just can't handle that movieverse is a seperate continuity just like TF Animated or TF Prime was. There is at least one Transformers podcast out there that can't get out of GeeWhun mode when talking about the movie.
Quite the opposite here. I'm disappointed that only one version of the Evasion Optimus figures has got the proper flames in truck mode and that none of the (Hasbro) AOE Gen Optimus figures have flames in robot mode.
I'm surprised GeeWhunners aren't putting it as a separate continuity. Aren't they the ones saying movie verse is poisoning Transformers lore, yet they group it with their most precious?
