To be fair, a lot of it has to do with AOE Prime's design. There is literally no truck parts anywhere on the design, which makes it impossible to do a figure even half as screen accurate as ROTF Prime. I blame the character designers more then the toy designers, its evident that the toys were barely considered for AOE.

Also remember this figure is part of the Lost Age line, which is the Takara equivalent to the One-Step Changers.

I still want a leader class Evasion Mode Optimus Prime. If it had the same articulation as the RoTF Leader Prime, it would just complete my life.

Well the good news is they gave him a new accurate chest, the bad news is that's the only thing good about it.

Aw come on man, fake freaking smokestacks, too? Yer killin' me.

It's like the actual robot details are more film-accurate, but the transformation... dear God.

I'd say so close yet so far, but it's not really close at all.

The whole upper body looks a lot more accurate than any other AOE Optimus that's been released, but once you turn it around....YIKES...

Actually, "Lost Age" is just the Japanese name for "Age of Extinction."

This is a much better take on simplified toys than the One Step Changer things but it still suffers from being based on a design with an impossible transformation. Approaching it from the Stomp and Chomp Grimlock angle and have other figures activate lights and sounds at least adds some little playability to the kibble.

What's so hard about making a normal transformers figure that simply hides the wheels? If this were 2009's engineering we'd all be owning a very sexy Optimus Prime.

    I think its awful.

Hopefully next time they don't make new designs that are impossible to translate in to toys.

Looks fun, like a biggr version of that little DOTM Prime that combined with his trailer.

Yet another AoE Optimus figure murdered by its own back kibble.

    This is pitiful.

It looks OK from the front, and a little cooler with the wings attached...

But really, what the fuck are they thinking when they make this kinda crap? LOOK THIS THING FROM THE SIDE! Holy crap....And having a figure ride on him?

And since this is a Takara product, there will still be people proclaiming its excellence. Good to see that most of the posts so far have been fairly realistic.

This Optimus may try to tempt me with light-up boobs, but I shall not be swayed.

    ...probably.

This figure has a nice paint job I can appreciate since they did it right this time... But there's still WAY too much kibble on his back and legs for me to really care about this figure enough to want him. So I respectfully pass. I hope in the near future they make a more accurate lost age Leader Class Optimus that won't cost us an arm and leg.

He actually looks pretty decent despite being a Kibblesaurus Rex. I wonder if Hasbro's going to import this as Voyager Knight Optimus Prime.
