Hello everybody. Has been a lot of time since i made my last post here, i have been busy with a lot of gundam customs and stuff like that. A few days ago i was in my room and i started to look one of my deluxe Sideswipe and i thought that it would look very good painted in G1 colors so i decided to paint again a transformers toy so that`s what you have here: Sidearm Sideswipe in G1 Colors. I liked a lot working with this little friend. His paint in car mode has been polished to achieve a realistic car look. I hope you like it. The bad thing was that when i was trying to remove the pin wich connects the hip and his torso the connector broke. It doesn't affect the transformation because the front torso secures that part but i don't like when those pieces break. It's intended to be displayed in his robot mode but man... I love that car mode. I hope you like it and leave me your comments. And if you like it a lot you can find it here: [EBAY]Custom Transformers HFTD Deluxe Sidearm Sideswipe G1 Colors Handpainted Figure | eBay[/EBAY] Thank you And this is the broken piece as you can see it can transform and it's secured but im a bit sad for this.
Not my favourite mold (how many times have I said that?), but that, my good man, is as good as it is ever going to look. Oh, and that bit always breaks, I have loads of junkers from that happening, naughty joint!
It's the grey on the chest, makes it look like sideswipes white stripe xD But yeh, love it, some red on the legs would of been nice but it's great non of the less
you are the first person to actually use the hftd mold can you believe it? awesome but that broken piece ugh that hurts
That IS the right way, it's how the instructions tell you to flip the toes, even though it's not exactly movie accurate.
Looks very crisp, nice and shiny! One question though, the panel on the roof is like that due to unpaintable plastic or was it made that way to resemble the black patch on the Masterpiece?
Wonderful work! Looks great! Makes me wonder why Sideswipe wasn't sporting his G1 colors to begin with in the movies because the red really does suit him better (the Corvette Stingray concept would look hot in said colors too).
Don't listen to the instructions. You get a more movie accurate look if you rotate the wheels all the way around. They even sculpted the fender parts behind the wheels.
Thanks for your kind words. I see you liked it That is intended as you said it has been done this way to resemble the black path in the mp figure. But i have to say that i painted it it in a grey tone and now i think that it would have looked better in gloss black.
Morzo, this is the best sideswipe custom I've seen, and he's my favorite autobot. You did an amazing job with all the colors and the red is incredible. Any chance you have a tutorial on polishing?
Hello. Sorry for the late reply. Next time i do a custom i will try to do a tutorial explaining how do i paint with this gloss finish. Stay tuned
