Aww man. Now it looks kinda ridiculous, too bad I ordered from RK. Oh well, I already did plan on leaving this in truck mode anyway. :/

 

Add some custom weathering effects here and there and the robot mode will look perfect...

 

Truck mode looks good but yikes that robot mode is a mess. Hasbros rusty version is definitely better. Now we know why the original pics were so blurry  

 

This still looks good, but not nearly as promising as the initial images. I may be able to cancel my preorder and get the TRU three pack now.

 

While as dissapointed as some of you guys about his bot mode, I think minimal paint and weathering effects via simple customed paint job would add justice to the whole rusty prime concept.

I was always only going to get him for that sweet rusty truck mode, and it doesn't look like that's changed much from the promo shots to final sample. Count me as still on board.

Now, if we could get a version of this mold with a rusty truck mode AND a red and blue bot mode (which is actually doable, given the way he transforms)...  

 

Ooof... that's gotta be one of the more deceptive "promo image to real life figure" images we've seen lately. I had been hemming and hawing a bit between the US and Takara versions of rusty Prime, but now I have zero qualms opting for the US release.

Also, that spray of rust up his his belly and on his thighs makes it look like the poor guy has a raging case of jock itch.... ew.

 

Looks worse than the reveal photo.

 

I honetly like Hasbro's version better overall but Takara did the alt mode pretty well. I honestly want both regardless and I'm hoping to see sidebysides of both Hasbro and Takara's rusty Primes or even all three with the Milk MAgazine one as well

 

I really like how he looks in robot mode, but like others, I'm disappointed with how the robot mode turned out. Looking at the new pics, the splotches or "Rust" in robot mode look too even and...I want to say localized and clean because the splotches stop at the end of one part and then a clean transition to cream white the next.

I'm very seriously considering cancelling this myself but the only thing staying my hand is pending how much that Farmegeddon set is going to cost and where it will be exclusive to in the end.

 

It's like they sprayed the wrong color. Those splotches would've worked if it was a tan or dark brown, but it's red.

Is he supposed to be bleeding?

Sorry but this looks baaad. Even if the vehicle mode looks decent, the bot mode looks like white chocolate or cream or something. WTF were they thinking? I don't see how it's this hard to make a repaint that looks like he did in the movie.

 

Da FUK approved this one? Looks terrible in bot mode!

And there are STILL the hardcore "Takara" only fans that are trying to convince others that its still superior to any other evasion prime.
