while I agree with the above, I'm firstly more concerned with the impossible/stupid premise that this is a band composed of mortal enemies. seriously, if you're dead set on making a worthless set like this, at least have a band of four autobots or four decepticons.

Honestly, it all looks good but SDCC stuff is always hard to buy.
This Dinobots set looks good too but they are missing Sludge/Slog.
Especially when there is a rumour of a dinobot 5-pack, i'm really going to wait to see before making any other dinobot purchases.

 

The set is supposed to be silly and fun. Stop being so obnoxiously serious.

 

I hope people will break the set up & sell them separately. The only 1 I want is Snarl.

Silly and fun? As a transformers collector these words are alien (robots) to me.

hmmm yes the established lore doesn't quite support a bunch of alien robots that turn into vehicles forming a hair metal band, this is worrisome *strokes chin, pensively*

 

What did they do millions of years ago before the war? How did they live? Did they have fun on Cybertron? Blaster & Jazz prove that they enjoy music. So they couldn't possibly have had concerts on Cybertron? Way back before there were Bots & Cons?

 

I...actually want the Knights of Unicron set. It looks fun, the hair, accessories, change of color schemes and little references all make me want it as bad as I want that one third party Brawl figure. How do I get the set? That is the question.

 

I'm sure that one could construct a backstory for this. IDW has done a great job of detailing what things were like before the Cybertronian Civil War, before their were factions, how you had different movements, the functionists, the miner working class, etc. Pre-war you had celebrity athletes like Blurr the racer, so it's certainly conceivable you could have had some celebrity rock bands back then.

Maybe this was a band from back before the war that used to make beautiful music, but then disintegrated due to some internal squabbles a la the Beatles, and then the war happened. Now, millions of years later they have agreed to put aside their differences in order to bring beautiful music to millions. They could end up being like the Wyld Stallions in Bill and Ted, and unite cybertronians with their songs.

 

I still think it's stupid to use the WfC/FoC figures, especially FoC Jazz which is not only a meh figure, but ridiculous when you remember there's a much better Jazz figure out there that has a pair of goddamn speakers.

 

A 5-pack in move colors? No thanks.
