To be fair on Hasbro this time a round, we are only getting 2 main versions of Bee, There is the 2 pack version and the 5 pack version, but he isn't the only one given that treatment.

Only repaint/remold we know will happen is Stinger. Otherwise, only a few Bee's will be in this line...as aposed to the others.

My job involves me studying marketing trends and making purchasing decisions. I deal with this time of issue every single week and every single season. Just today I had to go through and decide what lines got moved to endcaps to allow for Guardians of the Galaxy toys to have spots in main aisles.

So yes, I put a touch more faith in my reasoning than I do angry G1 fans who scream "If it were the original Optimus every child would be buying 10 of them!"

I'll gladly discuss this with you when you bother to read what I wrote all the way through rather than stopping at the first line because it goes against your already solidified preconceived notions.

Its not the whole reason but yes, it is part. Though, I would counter that not all the One-Steps are problems... One-Step Grimlock is a VERY popular toy in my area. I'd point to the Construct-bots and the Dino Riders, along with the Titan Line (but the Titan Line is just continuing the success Hasbro has had with the upscaled Star Wars and Marvel characters... until the bottom fell out there too.)

Hmm. So you're saying Hasbro needs to make them cheaper?

Perhaps we can reduce plastic-use by not even having a toy! Just a 2-d cardboard cutout of the character in robot and vehicle mode.

Brilliant. We'll be sure to make them inaccurate too..

G.I.Joe Renegades would like to have a word with you, hell Hasbro hasn't even attempted to make a new cartoon for Joe and it's been what? Five years now?

Hasbro has a tendency to ditch things when it is no longer profitable and right now I think their Star Wars brand is the most likely to survive if the toy industry crashed almost to a 100% in the next few years because that's what Star Wars fans have the power to do.

He-Man would also like a word with you on that front and I so do not want an online only adult oriented collector line that turns into a huge fiasco like they did. They couldn't even make their DC based subscription line last based on the fan sales.

Let's face it people, the toy industry is in pretty deep and needs to develop an entire new strategy if they're going to survive into the next decade. Technology has changed how we evolved, and our attention spans have shrunk so much because of it keeping our interest is a real trial these days. Let alone the kids, who are wired in 24/7 since the day their born.

This is true. I was considering getting into Prime until I saw the unpainted mess that was Ratchet. By the time clip-on wheels debuted I had stopped collecting.

You get out what you put in. Like others have said, stop throwing money at the all to many sub-lines and focus on the lines that matter. Scrap Kre-O (it's not the first effort to rip-off Lego, anyone remember BTR?) and just strike deal with Lego. Put your resources into making toys that people want. Why did Hasbro scrap good gimmicks like Human Alliance and give us crap ones.

And I too was under the impression that Age of Extinction wasn't really a kids movie. It's more aimed at pre-teen at the least.

    You. I like you :thumb

I'm surprised the AoE line has sold so much tbh, the amount of other lines we have coming, and that are out at the moment, are staggering.

Hopefully the new cartoon will boost TF sales.

Let's all pray that after the AoE line burns off and the night closes in, that the next line won't be a one step fueled nightmare built atop Bullshit mountain. <.< I can see Hasbro Execs blaming this on Dinobots. Bullshit. It's the one step shit that's fucking clogging everything up and looks terrible and then power battlers that aren't selling, which make it seem like there are deluxes when there aren't. How many stores in your area have more Generations Deluxes than power battlers? I imagine there isn't much of anything Generations related, but a fuck ton of power battlers.

Never seen interest in Transformers that don't Transform - the quality is also a large drop compared to the ROTF toyline, heck, even the DOTM toyline.

Not to mention the only thing I've seen at my local Toy store is just waves and waves of the one-step Bumblebee.

I can't believe the rubbish they put out for the movie, I want to see legends/cyberverse back, better kre-o's, better choice of deluxes (ex) to many Bumblebees and Grimlocks. No more one step changers, Dino riders, flip and change, construtabots and please stop transforming the toys in robot mode in the packaging, i can transform it myself.

It will probably be overshadowed since it's not on a mainstream kids TV network

this really doesn't surprise me at all, the line is just a mess.

I'd argue its the worst TF lineup i can recall: i mean, i know the brand in, out, backwards and sideways and when i have a hard time differentiating what's what (1 step changer, Power battlers, Generations, flip change, etc) between the various sub lines, such a limited character selection, no bad guys, so many versions of the same characters (seriously, how many Grimlocks are there), multiple releases of the same molds (how many Evasion Prime's are there now?) really cheap looking packages, high-prices, and while the Movie is doing well, it's still underperforming domestically.

The whole thing feels terribly mis-managed to me.

I love the designs. IMO these are the best yet. I wish the G1 or nothing train would stop, already. :/

I know my 6 year old son hates the super simple way most of the new toys transform or lack of transformation period. So do a bunch of kids he goes to school/summer camp with. Hasbro was stupid for dumbing them down. I know parents complained because they actually had to interact with their children but the kids hate the toys and some of the designs.

    1. Bad Economy
    2. Too many lines
    3. Game Apps

Smart Phone Games are the New Baby Sitters.

We need to stop complaining, we need to not hand our old phones down to children, we need to stop spending money on Digital Rights, we need to retain physical Media. If they want to play video Game they need to play real games not those pay to play scams.

There is no reason any kids needs a Iphone or Ipad...

    When did we become old.
