Talkign about this matter, it was explained in one Botcon. Those little pilot were, actually, the Spark that took the form of a pilot. Tehy even showed a final sculpt for them. As Feralstorm wrote above, this idea was taking away since it was not good with the living robot concept.

Japanese Cryotek, had the ñittle pilot inside the bubble but it was very simple compared to the one showed at Botcon.

That's what happens when I'm fiddling with my incomplete(   ) Universe Razorclaw and noticed the wheels and I tried to find third mode lol.
