This is actually a pretty nice figure in hand. And that's comming from someone who hated this dude when pics where first shown. I was thinking of painting him silver but said screw it I'll keep him gold since I already have a normal prime. Maybe this will be a special figure in the future.

The thing about YOTH MP Optimus is basically the same reaction when Hasbro released MP Acid Storm,I read topic after topic about how Acid was probably the worst hated Masterpiece for his bright neon green checker board design, but now YOTH Optimus is likely to join Acid Storm in that category.

I mean its like this plain and simple that these figures are either Love It or Hate It type of situation, there is no middle ground when it comes to these. But as for me I have both YOTH Optimus and Acid Storm and truthfully these figures are downright Awesome since Acid seems SO LOUD with that color he automatically stands out in any spot you put him in.

As for Optimus he is like the opposite of AS with the exception of the gold chrome he is dark and mysterious almost like a Reverse Nemesis Prime from an alternate universe,to me he is just different but in a good way.So that's my 2cents.

100% with you on this. I bought both these figures for these reasons and love them both. And not as substitutes for the toon accurate versions, which I have. They are great molds to begin with and the wacky color schemes make them worth owning in their own right.

The toys r us around us is consistently sold out of year of the horse prime

I know certain areas such as Seattle often sell out quickly of expensive collectible as we are collector heavy and have a decent economy

Haven't seen one in stores for months.

(there are still a few Acid Storms hanging around though...)

I have both YOTH and Acid Storm, how you felt about them is spot on. Simply amazing version of their G1 color scheme twins.

I just hope that the TRU buyer realizes there is a difference between MP Acid Storm, Sunstorm, YOTH and the main character ones.

MP Sunstorm will be their 3rd peg warmer in 2 years. Hopefully that doesn't get them thinking MPs don't sell.

Ditto for Portland. These things flew off the shelves pretty much the same day they hit, and I haven't seen one in months. Anything good is gone pretty much the morning it is on the shelf.

Jealous of you all that can actually still find Acid Storm, too :lol

TRU here still has AS and YOTH. I think I'll pick up YOTH before the 20% coupon expires on Sunday.

(not directly at you, Alucard, but just in general): People keep saying things like this. Acid Storm sold out almost everywhere, and Horse Prime is doing pretty well too.

Obviously they're not selling as well as MP10 or SW, but they're still selling out. If a retailer buys 10,000 of an item and they sell through 90% of them within the time they wanted to sell them (for MPs that time frame appears to be a year) than it is a success. A failure would be a 30-40% sell through rate.

Has anyone else had issues with there YotH Optimus prime falling apart/breaking? found one at a Toy's R us and bought it. Unfortunatly, after I take it out of the box and move a few part, parts just started falling apart. The grill, part of the waist, right windshield hinge and back pack part just broke off with no pressure, and the clear red paint on the waist lights is sticky and rubbing off/smearing. Don't suppose if anyone knows if Hasbro will replace this? I'd take it back to the store i bought it from, but it's a two+ hour drive from my place.

That's different than my experience with it. Between Takara MP-10, Hasbro MP Prime, and YOTH, YOTH had the tightest joints, and is the only version I've had where both fuel tanks peg in securely.

    Sorry you got a dud.

Guess I'll have to try to glue him back together then. If that doesn't work, he's going to the scrap box :(

Definately sounds like a dud. I have two of them and neither has any problems with them.
