1. AOE (8/10) It wasn't perfect but I enjoyed it and think its the best by far.
2. TF1 (8/10) Autobot Arrival scene gets me everytime..  
3. DOTM (7/10) Action was good but stupid Military and more of Sams moaning.
3. ROTF (6/10) I don't HATE this movie.. I enjoyed it, but it did have flaws.. MANY flaws lol

 

I know, right? I think 07 gets a lot of love because of what came after (RotF) so it's viewed as being "way up here" *hand held high* compared to RotF *hand held way low*.

Yet the 07 flick had the weakest of animation (yeah they looked good but their movements was stiff, slow and uninspired save for a few good moments). Their power levels were the most un-transformer-y of the entire movieverse. Although, credit due, the 07 flick had the decepticons at their most deadliest untill DotM n AoE came along.

Will be interesting to see if AOE is still so many peoples fave in a years time when it isn't shiny and new.
I like the 07 movie best of the 'live action' as I connected with Sams character in that movie. A kid not much younger than I was at the time who wanted to impress the chicks and got with a hot girl he had a crush on, who also loved Transformers and wanted his car to be one lol.
I love the Transformers being more a mystery built up, the Decepticons being a threat and the feeling of promise I had that the series would build upon the foundations of the first film.
I felt Steven Spielbergs influence a little more in that first film which just managed to stop it being tipped over the edge by Bays sensibilities.

ROTF really tainted the movie universe for me after that and the taste of it is still in the movies even AOE. The Allspark was all but forgotten about and never explained, new bots just appeared with little explanation or development, the Decepticons were even more nameless and faceless than the first movie and seemed weak, just existing for the Autobots to have something to blow up. They just feel like episodic cartoon shows rather than a cohesive universe. I like some Saturday morning cartoons but expect more from a movie. I'm still waiting for the sequel the series deserves where the Transformers are treated like real characters, plot points and characters are more than just mcguffins to be forgotten about next film and where the finale isn't a predictable city battle finishing with Optimus giving a speech and the film stopping.

 

AOE: Great story, great characters, great action, nice pace even though it was long it didn't bother me
07: Great characters, great setup for the other movies, All around very good
DOTM: Great tie into historical events, Sam was annoying, should have done more with Shockwave
ROTF: The fallen was cool but he should have been more of a threat to Optimus and the story could have been done better

Okay, fine, I'll be serious...

1.) Transformers. A magical adventure starring Shia LeBeouf, Megan Fox, Optimus Prime, Bumblebee and their pals.
2.) Transformers: Dark of the Moon. The scene where Megatron and the tattooed jet guy F'ed up the Lincoln Memorial was classic super villain stuff.
3.) Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen. That old jet guy with a cane farted a parachute, no thanks.
4.) Transformers: Age of Extinction. Those dinosaur guys were neat but at this point I'm getting tired.

1) Transformers (2007) - The first one was just unique. Nothing we ever seen before. The scene where the Autobots arrived and with Optimus pulling up along with the score was just MAJESTIC. It was so grand that, at that point, it didn't even matter if the story was crappy... Optimus and the Autobots have arrived! That's ALL it mattered!

2) DOTM - I liked this one. It was decent. Good score from Jablonsky again.

3) AOE - The only saving grace that this is not worst than ROTF is because ROTF was just that bad! Plus there are Dinobots... but even then, it's not much ahead of ROTF.

4) ROTF - Epic facepalm.... I think the only good thing was the introduction of Sideswipe.

No coincidence how they are also ranked based on how much characterization the actual Autobots received. Sadly Decepticons were never expanded beyond maybe 2 or 3 lines. Lockdown would've changed that but he is technically neutral.
