I know this isn't everyone's cup of tea but for those who are interested, I've spotted this monster of a kid's toy at a Toys R Us in Huntington Beach at $80 a pop. I was in a hurry so I couldn't get any more pictures, but believe me, the legends are true. He is enormous.

Man, for $80 I simply can't even think about buying this. Seems like a fun figure to be honest.

    No.

And certainly not for eight dollars.

I found Predaking on Amazon for $50. I'm not touching this for $80...

If Hasbro designed him with more poseability, I'd consider getting it for scale reasons. As it is through, I don't like it.

I'm taking the same approach with this guy as with RotF Devastator. I'm going to wait and see if he goes on clearance, then I'll buy one and heavily mod him...

I'm not gonna get this guy.

Besides, there's a FAR BETTER figure worth $80 that I'm trying like hell to get *COUGH* LEGACY DRAGONZORD! *COUGH*

Besides, I'll wait for the Platinum Edition AoE Leader 2-pack.

The figure looks a lot of fun for kids. And I think a lot of people are forgetting about the electronics that are in this thing and that its light and sound features are designed to change depending on which 1-step or power battler you use with it, which might not be a good enough reason for adult fans but it's where a lot of the cost goes to.

    Don't you mean eighty dollars?

Yeah, I can agree with you. He only has elbow articulation in Robot mode. On the other hand his gimmicks look pretty fun for kids. But $80? No way.

Like I mentioned in some other thread, the intended audience for this thing, aka kids, will lose their shit over this. I'm sure this will be on many kid's wish list for this Christmas.

They have been on the shelves at TRU Alhambra earlier than that sighting.

    The legend exists.

I'll have to be honest..of course it's a big lump of overpriced plastic, but I'm looking at that Toy Fair demo, and he's actually pretty cool. Transformation is super-simple, but looks awesome, the pop out guns are cool, and the 'bite' attack motion looks wicked.

Expensive, but if I were a 7 year old kid I'd go NUTS if I got this for my birthday.

Hell, I'm losing my shit over this. :)  *big 40 yr old kid present*

With some paint and a few mods, this guy will sit proudly among my collection (when I'm not playing with him anyways). The only thing that bugs me is that there aren't any other of the Dinobots in scale with it, dooming it to sit alone.

Here's a bunch of in hand pics of him next to various transformers sizes out of box.
