The Sunstorm I want is just like the G1 Sunstorm they made, blinding orange goodness........................ Damn its awesome, why they keep dicking around like this with Masterpiece molds instead of that I do not understand.

 

People keep saying Brown, but I'm pretty sure that's Gold paint on his head, chest, intakes and guns.

 

I hope so too that we have the metallic color be gold/bronze, Hot colors like red, orange and yellow are usually really terrible at being captured by a camera, a camera that is already taking a picture of a picture through a computer monitor. I am sure he will look great with Gold, orangey red, yellow and flames on the wings to round him out. I will pick him up and everyone saying "I just saved $75" being ultra snarky never intended to get him anyway. That is a cold hard fact. I like both Sunstorms. I love originality. Gosh, and I am a "Geewuner" too. Hard to believe huh.

Edit note: The only one I was every disappointed was that MP Thundercracker did not get his nice silver paint and instead got really dumb tampos but I like the base all the same. I am glad we are seeing some originality in terms of the metallic color for Sunstorm.

 

The yellow on this Hasbro Sunstorm just does not seems right.

WTF? Whelp, looks like I'm stalking TRU this week.

 

Not that it matters since I'm not getting anyway, but I thought it was supposed to be the MP11 mold? How did it end up being the MP3 mold??

I thought I read somewhere that the package art was a picture of a custom Sunstorm.

 

No, it looks like the mock-up used for official photos was made using the MP3 mold, but the final product will utilize the MP11 mold. Images of a custom were used for solicitations, but this matches up way too closely to the officially shown colorscheme. Changing molds wouldn't be unheard of, as they did the same thing with Generations Nightbeat.

 

So will this be MP-11 mold???

 

That's just odd. Perhaps it's similar to the whole Generations Nightbeat thing.

 

A $129 for Sunstorm? You've got to be kidding me.

 

The Sunstorm we're getting looks nothing like what's depicted on that box. I'm not just talking about which SS mold they used, but the color scheme. If that box actually ends up on store shelves, then Hasbro is guilty of some pretty disgusting false-advertising. Anyone who purchases Sunstorm based on that box should have the right to return him for a full refund once they open him up and see what they actually bought.

 

I would buy that MP-3 mold in a heartbeat if it actually looked that good.

 

It isn't feigning ignorance on the part of the consumer when a windowless box contains a product that looks nothing like what is pictured on the box, disclaimer or not. Hasbro has long been in the business of fraudulent advertising (always more paint apps and not less, gee funny how that works), but this example is really bad, and on a high end product. At the end of the day, you can just tell they don't care. So I don't care to pretend they do either.

Thankfully I was able to buy the real Sunstorm, but I feel sorry for those who'd like a more reasonably affordable opportunity at him and instead have...this.

 

Do we have the TRU item number yet?

 

What's a "real" Sunstorm? Do you mean Hasbro will be stuffing this with KOs?
