So I plan on asking for my first MP figure for Christmas, that figure hopefully being Bumblebee. But my aunt and uncle in Colorado usually participate in the gift-giving, so I plan to ask them for an MP Autobot car to go with Bumblebee. The problem-I'm not sure which one to ask for! The Prowl and Lambor molds look amazing, but it'd be kinda outrageous to ask for both! So, I call upon you, my fellow fans to give me the slip on the best MP Autobot car! TFW2005 members-sound off!
Wheeljack. The Lancia Stratos is one of the most legendary race cars out there. It'll be worth the wait I'm sure. Barring that...Smokescreen. I love race cars and race livery!
Really can't say, each one has their strengths. The Datsuns look good, Prowl is crisp with that white, Bluestreak is nice in those dark colors, Silverstreak looks good, Smokescreen is nice. The Lambos looks good, are solid, and are iconic cars. Wheeljack looks great so far, those red rally wheels have won me over on his alt mode alone.
I think the individual character within the mold depends on you, but I have to say I think I enjoy the datsun mold just a little bit more than the lamborghini mold. I absolutely love both, but I always felt a little limited with posing Sideswipe. The feet are a tad awkward (for me, maybe I'm just not using them to their potential), and the head can't look upward very well which can hinder crouching poses. I'm pretty sure I saw a tutorial for a fix on that, I think. For the datsun mold, though, everything works beautifully. The large foot base allows for really dynamic posing, and the colors on all of the datsuns (but especially on Streak, in my opinion) look stunning. The only problem I've had with the Datsuns, and it occurs on two out of the three that I own, is a minor looseness with the hip joints due to the heavy lower legs and feet. But it's barely noticeable. Those are my two cents! And really, you can't go wrong with any car bot!
Ask for Lambor or Alert. Why? Because we're getting Prowl stateside and what should be a pretty reasonable price, which you could maybe get down the line. If their willing to buy you a Takara one, may as well get one that may not come out here - Then you have a much better chance of at least getting one of each mold.
What standards are you using for "best"? Prowl and Sideswipe are probably the most iconic car-bots and their figures capture their G1 essence beautifully. Note that Sideswipe is known for QC issues with his paint. There was a recent second run where many owners reported a crooked Autobot insignia on his hood. I have a first run Sideswipe and his paint job is uneven in some places, has a small hair that dried in the paint, and a small nick, but I'm really not too bothered by them.
Wait until Wheeljack. I guaranteed he is the best. If you are asking for on for Christmas, be sure they can afford it or make sure they don't mistake it with a Generations. I know, because my family sometimes makes mistakes on my Transformer gifts unless I give them a full colored picture of the box. Also my family was upset when they found out how much they are, but I still got Smokescreen for Christmas last year.
It's a toss up between Bluestreak, Silverstreak and Smokescreen. Depends on my mood. All three are stellar.
For as amazing as they ALL are, out of what we currently have and know about coming soon, I personally think Wheeljack will dominate.
I voted Swipe (I'm sentimental......) but I go with the building consensus that Wheeljack is looking like the One Car to Rule Them All.
I'd pick Wheeljack too, but he aint out yet, so as much as I love Lambo's (not a fan of Sideswipe's face..), I have to give it to Streak, bot mode and car mode are sexy. I'd pick G2 Swipes next.
You can't go wrong with any Datsun or Lambo mold. I like both of their Robot modes equal, like the Lambo transformation better, and I love the 280Z car(especially Bluestreak's).
