Was EG the second reboot or a spin-off?

 

Spin-off.

There was G1 MLP. Then Tales which was a spinoff of G1. Then there was G3, the first reboot, then it's spinoff G3.5, then FIM, the second reboot, with EG as it's spinoff.

I never heard of bronies treating folks who like G1 ponies poorly. Granted, the only folks I know that are into G1 ponies are women my age that grew up with MLP in the 80's.
