I've been avoiding Whirl but that does make him a little tempting.

Not for a while yet I would've thought. The Slug 2 pack has literally just come out over here and the Strafe one has yet to see the light of day along with the Grimlock one. Not sure of the Optimus one has even come out in the US yet.

Travelling Man isn't brilliant for comics, you might get the odd back issue if you're lucky. You're better off at Forbidden Planet a few doors up.

For toys, if you're after Generations head over to TRU near the Metrocentre (it's a short train/car journey from Newcastle. There's nowhere in the Metrocentre itself worth visiting though). In the city centre you've also got Fenwicks and John Lewis which have decent-sized toy departments.

Teesside Park now has Slug out on the shelves - same price as the regular Deluxe, so if you haven't got the Minicon it's a nice little freebie.

Fenwicks and John Lewis have nothing really of note, some of the Beast Hunters stuff and the awful AOE toys that aren't the deluxes, voyagers or leaders.

I was in London on Saturday and visited Orbital. They had 3 Tankors (no Rattraps!) and a few old things that were interesting, Beast Wars Rhinox and Terrorsaur and a load of the Takara Reissues at around £40 a pop.

Knew i should of waited :lol

Still i'll probably get strafes and undoubtedly Optimus's as well. Least this does confirm the AoE figures are being shipped a little better than previous lines, usually we would have to wait about a month +

Fingers crossed, TRU does have the Optimus Evolution listed but not currently available:

Transformers 4 Optimus Prime Voyager Evolution 2 Pack

Edit: Oops, just realised you probably mean the AoE 5-packs, etc. Sorry.

Picked up a TF booklet in TRU today. According to that, the Grimlock, Strafe and Bumblebee Evolution 2 packs should be out some time this month and the Optimus one should be out in September.

I also emailed Hasbro UK to find out if they knew when wave 2 (or the wave 1 Leaders might be out) and got this less than helpful response:

So apparently TRU decide when the waves are released. And apparently when Argos get their stock. :banghead:

They're also telling me that they don't distribute the figures in the UK but that TRU (and Argos presumably) import them directly from the manufacturer (apparently not them) and to ask the stores when they'll be ordering further waves.

No wonder Argos has never got the leader figures in. Doesn't sound like anyone actually knows an arse from an elbow.

I almost forgot how bad Hasbro UK is, luckily I'm off to live in New York soon. I have found though that buying from Amazon.com even with import fees it works out cheaper than buying from a local Toys R Us here, only problem is waiting for it to ship but you save a lot of money.

I've done that a few times, managed to get BH Voyager Shockwave for £18 earlier in the year, and that included shipping!

Yeah, they may not pay tax, but Amazon sure are good at exporting figures (although Generations Blitzwing still says it can't be shipped outside of the US, despite the same page offering Global express shipping.

No wonder distribution is awful in the UK if the retailers are importing them! I thought Hasbro shipped them and then the store puts them on display!

God damn it TRU UK -.-

I see Tesco have a sale on selected AoE items.

    One-Steps at £7, Power-Battlers at £10 and Flip-Changers at £17.

Funny that they leave the grossly overpriced Sparker things at £15. Also highly annoying that the AoE Constructbots are still normal price too as that would've been the only thing I'd have wanted to buy at the right price. Beast Hunters Deluxes still at £13. Abominus sets at £19(.99?).

Still, the sale explains why some of my friends dropped in earlier with some One-Steps for me as Birthday presents (for today is that day). I'd previously told them I'd only buy them if they were really cheap, and they reasoned that what's cheaper than free as gifts for me, especially if it costs them less to buy because there's a sale on? :)
